Clearly there is a divide in peoples opinion, with most KL fans backing their promoter with the neutrals more split down the middle. I spoke to Holder about the track and he said it was dangerous, with riders unable to turn properly and making it impossible to race. He said although the Poole track had been bumpy, it is always possible to turn and he had no issues with it when he rode here the previous night. I rarely agree with Steve0 and EIAddio but on this occassion we are all of the same opinion that the whole sorry affair falls at the door of Buster Chapman who caused the issue in the first place. Interestingly Tatum said on TV Monday that the track was 80% clay and very very grippy. But clearly less so than the Poole meeting.

Poole Vs Rye House Thurs 10/8/17
Steve Shovlar replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Going to be close with KK at reserve and more than likely taking 7 rides. Expecting 15 points from him. With Harris and Nicholls Rye should get close. But we welcome back Brady which is great news. Pirates finally back to full strength. An improved performance last night and hopefully we have turned the corner after a terrible run. Hoping for a win here but I am sure KK will be a major thorn. -

Just missed out on a point but would take a 7 point defeat in the playoffs. Both teams missing key riders in Masters and Worrall/Kurtz. A far far better performance tonight. The team looked determined. Can't fault the effort at all. Two massive rollers from Howarth, admitted by the rider himself, certainly killed our chances mid meeting but they battled on. Would definately have put Hans in heat 15 just to use his elbows. Thorsell. Such an enigma. Untouchable around Monmore bar the chain incident which was timed at 2.30 after the two minutes back to tapes. Poole fans we can be happier with that. -

Didn't expect anything than a defeat but Durno has just allowed Howarth to get away with two massive rollers. Its hard enough to get anything out of this place without giving the home side further assistance. -

you can't have one rule for one rider and a different rule for another. All rules should be the same. I would be stunned after Matt Ford refused Poland to use Holder, that Peterborough did so without his permission, considering Holder is a Poole rider first and foremost and only loaned to Peterborough this season. How could a championship club go behind a premier clubs back, and broker a deal with Poland for a rider they don't own, that would see Holder banned from riding for his parent club Poole? It makes no sense. -

Then why wasn't Thorsell? He missed a Wolves fixture for a re-arranged Polish meeting. -
Precedent already set with Thorsell missing a wolves meeting for Poland a couple of weeks ago.

Ingave an answer. matt Ford refused to sign a document allowing Polish clubs first dabs on a rider even if it was a re-arranged fixture. So the situation would not arise. Whatever Peterborough do is their business. Clearly they are happy as probably got some compo. -

Matt Ford was the one promoter who wouldn't bow down to Torun and sign Holder over. It's been well documented. -
Its pretty clear Woffinden has lost a huge chunk of support due to his anti British stance. No British league, no British championship and no British SWC. But hang on, He wouldn't mind riding on his home Polish track in the World Games for his sponsors. This forum is typical of speedway fans throughout the country who love the sport. A wide range of fans with varying thoughts political, financially and in speedway. A large chunk have now had enough of Woffinden. What does he bring to the sport in this country? Absolutely nothing. Marmite man? I like marmite. calling Woffinden Marmite man is disrespecting marmite. Guess if he thinks about it he could ring up Marmite for sponsorship. And do another needless losers lap of honor at Cardiff next British GP.

Is This Swindon Team The Best Of Recent Times?
Steve Shovlar replied to DC2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Just goes to show nothing is definate. Fans can look at team before the season and one is favourite, but it rarely turns out that the team runs out the winner. Swindon looked poor before a wheel was turned and would still have been also rans even with Bellego riding beyond expectations but for the signing of the Pole mid season which turned them into possible winners. I think they will come up short this season as beaten finalists but if they win it it will be deserved. -

This Swindon team is mediocre in the extreme. Its just that other teams are even worse.- 151 replies

If this was the case Thorsell would be banned for not riding for Wolves last week.
