  1. The weather looks to be set dry on the long range forecasts for Good Friday. Lets hope it stays that way. Poole v Somerset at 11 am, followed by Somerset v Poole at 7.30 pm. No KK for Poole as he is riding in Poland. Danny King guests in both meetings. Not much of a choice for Poole as other clubs riding. Hopefully he will rider better for us than against us (for Leicester) King has never been any good around Poole so not the ideal guest but we should have enough fire power to see off the rebels. At Somerset its a different kettle of fish. Kurtz and Holder and to a lesser extent King know the track but the others have limited knowledge. Still, it's there to be ridden and I am sure the Oak Tree will be packed out with Somerset and Poole fans plus a lot of holiday makers from the nearby caravan parks. Looking forward to it. Thoughts?
  2. Absolutely! I ordered a burger, chips and coke. £9 please. What the hell. I should have said no and walked away but no other choice captive audience. The burger was tasteless, the chips were undercooked. Terrible ripoff! Never again.
  3. The start marshal was weak. He added 15 minutes to the meeting. Needed to be more forceful. As you say raise his arms and the riders will soon come into line if the green light comes on. Ref could have warned riders to come to start too. could have been away by 9.15 easily. If a meeting goes incident free at Poole I am back in the car park by 9.10 pm.
  4. Not sure what Gavan said but I was away. Not doing a report on an iphone. Said what I thought at the time. Beaten by a better team on the night. Be a lot closer next time.
  5. I have been to Leicester 6 times now and this was the fastest run of all. Back in the car by 9.30 and on our way. Not sure why Leicester fans say they are giving up etc. They got beat thats all. Support your team. Crowd was good last night. Racing was not although there were more passes in last nights meeting than I have witnessed in any of the previous 5. The racing was poor though. The track shape still doesn't seem to lend itself to passing. Perhaps it needs to bed in more as the area which had been widened was quite rough when riders went through it. To be honest Leicester got the backlash of Pooles poor performance at Belle Vue the night before. The lads were certainly fired up for this one and it showed straight away. Some are moaning about Bates and Riss missing. Would it have made much difference to the scoreline? Perhaps a few points closer but Poole would still have come away with the 4 points. Bates is a good reserve but Kindt is better. Bates would have taken points from Shanes granted. As for Schlein, he got 7 and Riss might have got a a point more. Leicester again made an error though as Schlein was illegal. If Leicester had cost Poole a point an appeal would have gone in. I am sure. Leicester didn't have riders with the firepower to handle last night. Do Leicester City fans all clear off from their foitball club because they were near the bottom most of this season? Support your club! Don't know what Darcy said but if he was angry with his teams performance he should stay away from any public lambasting. Worst possible thing to do. For Leicester. Nilsson rode well in every one of his races. Best Leicester rider. Auty had one good ride but was off the pace most of the night. Schlein battled and had a win from the back when he got up the inside of KK. Gomolski had a mare. Leading one heat he stopped when he saw a red light in the crowd. Was awol the rest of the time. King started well but faded very badly. Graversen was poor to useless. Ayres had one goid ride but was poor. For Poole. KK was good and fast got the track record for a week Holder was poor. EF on the start line followed by being beaten by Ayres. Not acceptable and he knows it. Kerr did his job. Some good sensible riding. Kurtz was superb. No one could get near him. Won his races by a mile. Rider of the night. Andersen was very good. Solid night. Klindt did exactly as expected. Gave the team tips on track positions before the meeting. Was fast and agressive. Shanes was again excellent for a number seven. Turned the bike on a sixpence to have Graversen for breakfast on his first vist here. Passed both Leicester reserves on the same bend! Boy has talent. So Somerset home and away next Friday. Bring on the Rebels. And hope King rides better than he did last night.
  6. Write off our Poole Pirates at your own risk. Totally different performance to last night with every rider bending their bikes in half to slaughter Leicester. I guess riot act well and truly read. Fabulous dominant Pirates. Leicester never stood a chance tonight. He wouldn't have got near Klindt who has seen off King.
  7. No there was a Paul Potts singer murdering some opera classics. Then went on to Matlock and have just arrived at the stadium. Probably wall down the center. People already arriving for the meeting.
  8. Pooles track was redone last season. After the Darcy call off the trackstaff seem afraid to overwater it so it goes very slick after 6 heats.
  9. How on earth am I goingtosit down and write a report on last night I am away from homewith iphone. Have had a very enjoyableday at Chatsworth house soaking in the Rembrandt and Van Dyke paintings then A stroll around Bakewell before heading off to Leicester. A glorious day!
  10. Agree with that. He has started this season in the form of his life, no doubt about it. Impossible to catch if he gates and was passing for fun last night. But seen him vanish from meetings when given a back wheel by one of the opposition. Belle Vue last night were firing on all cylinders and their setups were all a couple of miles an hour fast than the Poole riders. Heat 13 the prime example when Fricke, Andersen and KK were wheel to wheel but Fricked just opened his throttle and walked slowly away from them during the race. No one will get close to bv at home, though when Poole do return in June we should have Newman back who enjoys the place and the team will have a better idea of setups.
  11. Think we will be lucky to get anything out of tonight. While Leicester have lost Bates at reserve they are hugely strengthened by having Schlein in place of Riss. I see a bonus point as all we might come away with.
  12. Difference between the teams was about three miles an hour. Belle vue riders farfaster around the track. Wewere just not fast enough. First five heats outgated and left for dead. After that we were better but the bv riders were faster and chosing lines the Poole riders didnt know about. Sometimes youhave to hold your hands up and sayyou were well beaten by a better team. Now down in Lal Quila in Rusholme enjoying a curry!
  13. I am in the grandstand and it is oolite applause. Well done to BV on a convincing win. Difference between the teams? About 3-4 miles an hour. Poole managed to make a few starts then couldn't defend their positions. Beaten by the better team.
  14. Good crowd but not noisy. Something the management need to work on. Anyone who says there is no home advantage is talking rubbish. The BV boys are completely dialled in and know setups and where to go on the track. Poole couldn't live with them in first half of meeting. Bjerre just said on the mic they all know the setups. BV promotion need to expand fanbase. Product is excellent. Need younger crowd and more noise. Turning into a good meeting after heat 4.
  15. Bewley around here is totally dialled in. Impressive no doubt about it. Meeting hasgot a lot better after the first four heats. Pooles setups shot to pieces first five heats not at the races.
  16. Bewleys race with Kurtz was verygood. Usedhis hometrack advantage toknow exactly where to ride. Good to see a young Brit doing this, and not a young Aussie, as Ihave been discussingon that other thread. Power to young Brits!
  17. Last two heats have been better. Heat two shanes messed up his goggle pull offs on the third bend. Good between kk and sedgmen and klindt and worral though. First 4 heats were dire entertainment. But I have to say racing has now improved with some good racing, albeit Poole riders struggling to compete. And some say there's no home track advantage? I think Belle Vue have tons of home track advantage. Don't mind being thrashed if the racing is good. Hopefullythe remainder of the meeting will produce more of the last few heats. Poole left for dead at the tapes and struggling for horsepower to retain position.
  18. 4 heats no passing at all smith just beat Hans who missed the gate and wasted his time for 4 laps. Very poor racing so far. Expected a speedway feast. Getting poor fayre so far regardless of score.
  19. Start delayed queues. They didnt open ticket office until6.30. Ridiculous.
  20. Had to check whether I had posted in the right thread. Left at 11 got here 4.45 pm traffic bad north of Wolverhampton
  21. Just checked number 3. So Morris, Bellego, BWD and Grondal or Zak W can take rides.
  22. Get well soon Adam rotten luck like Kyle Newman. Isn't he number 2 in the averages? Doyle, Morris and two others can take his rides.
  23. Setting off to the long journey to Manchester later on this morning. Giving ourselves plenty of time for Friday traffic. After the meeting we are heading to the curry mile to sample the delights of what Manchester has to offer. Then on Saturday morning we head down to Leicester for the first league meeting of our season. Whatever the result tonight I hope the track produces some great racing for us to enjoy.
