Track looked absolutely fine when I arrived at 6.30. But the damage had clearly already been done earlier this week with the heavy rain. No way would anyone have wanted to call off this meeting with riders travelling from all over europe and obviously the hope was that the water table was low enough for the water to have drained away. Unfortunately it hadn't. On Wednesday after noon the teack was a quagmire and for the first time in years P&P couldn't go ahead. 48 hours later the track just wasn't ready. The racing we did see was pretty good. First bend was the main issue which got worse as the meeting went on. Water rose to the surface and riders struggled to turn there. All disappointing but the right call. Not sure if using a tyre packer on a wet track is sensible though. Surely that would bring water to the surface. A huge crowd so the main objective was done. Raising a lot of money for Darcy and in that respect a big success. Hopefully the rain will now stay away and the track will now have a proper chance to dry out before the visit of Wolves next Wednesday. Track looked absolutely fine when I arrived at 6.30. Putting a roller on a saturated track surely isn't wise? It would just bring the water to the surface.

Join me on periscope for the racing. Or not. Track waterlogged. Off.
-
Holder hates just about everything to do with British racing at the mo. What do you suggest Poole should have done different with the track? It looked perfect before the meeting.
-
Moisture coming up from all the rain. No practice due to waterlogged track. racing is good. Delays a pain. Track is not bad at all joinus on periscope some good passing. Newman out with shoulder injury. Rotten luck.

Hang on this is a fund raiser. The money raised goes to Darcy. Do you not think he is worth £20 fir the entertainment he gave during his short career? The idea is to raise money. Wont raise much if its free to get in. Get your hand in your pocket and pay an extra 20 for the good times he gave Poole fans for crying out loud!!!!

Harsh on the two who are dropped but gives jobs to British riders which can't be bad. Makes Leicester decent and away from being the whipping boys.

Shame the track was too wet but the rain was very heavy earlier on. Saw the new race siuts very smart, a more faded blue look. No more black bottoms to the suits now sky have cleared off. Very smart.

No practice too wet.

I am heading down to the stadium for 3. So if thees any track practice I will go live on Periscope so you can all look in. @stephenshovlar

More than that. I heard Matt won't do less than 100,000 a year on the main team sponsor.
-
A proper name. So we are now know as Volvo Cars Poole Pirates. Better than Poole Volvo Cars Pirates! Matt Ford said last week he had received 4 offers for team sponsorship but didn't want to undersell his brand so held out. Guess Volvo have come up with the asking price. Rain has finally stopped but it has been very heavy and prolonged. Not sure if there will be enough time for it to dry out before 3 pm and practice.
-
Not sure if announcing a team sponsor is particularly exciting for fans. Good for Matts coffers but there the excitement ends. More exciting to hear that Poole stadium is going to be redeveloed into a stadium similar to Toruns.

If Mick Horton has the rights to Coventry no other person could come along and start a new club with 30 miles of Coventry. The bspa would notgrant a promoters license.

Peterborough V Coventry Challenge 19th Match 12pm

Meetings need to start on time. Delayed starts are frustrating for those already in the stadium. Start the meeting and open another turnstile if necessary. But start on time. -
Season Preview 2017

Last time I looked Poole had Klindt at reserve. If he goes up in the team we will have either Newman, Kurtz or Holder replacing. Poole have no reserve issues. -
Use sportsmania.eu.

And some on here were saying last season he was feigning injury when he tried to make a comeback and pulled out.

Wow. Eurosport must be struggling no to find some bike ride or tennis tournament not to cover. Surely there's the Netherlands King of the mountains race or King Of Brunei over 50's invitational tennis tournament? That about all they ever bloody show when I click on Eurosport.

Having such a ridiculously lop sided match up could really harm the Peterbourough promotion. What were they thinking? Result was never in doubt before a wheel had turned. -
If I had picked the team it would be hypocritical. But I didn't. Would I have brought Kurtz back? No. Matt Ford bought young Holder over last year so he was bound to have been in the Poole team this season. It will take a few more seasons before we really start to see the benefits of Neil Vatchers work with the kids but it is happening. More British youngsters in euro u21's this season, gaining experience. Time to block the new Aussies out of it and they will have to find a different avenue to progress through the sport.
