Bell Vue V Wolves Friday 17th June
Steve Shovlar replied to rainman's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Nothing bizarre about it. He hasn't done as well as the riders above him. -
It really doesn't matter how much money is raised at the time for an injured rider, it will never be enough. Say I earn several million quid in my working lifetime ( hopefully more than that) but get paralysed. As a sportsman my fans raise a huge £500,000. Seems a lot but over a working life it is not much at all.s

Bell Vue V Wolves Friday 17th June

p Are you naturally obnoxious or do you have to have lessons? Anyone can see that if Masters rode Wolves would have had another rider capable of winning heats. They had no one really to cover for PK anyway as only a coup,e of the riders were effective in the meeting. If you call trolling giving an opinion then you are the star queenie. Dont come on a thread that has nothing to do with Poole, wher you normally hang out, and start spewing the same crap that wrecks many threads on here. Belle Vue are a good team no doubt but Wolves turned up with a team Leicester would have been embarassed to put out. No wonder they got pasted. Still, Belle Vue are now the clear favourites for the league as many have said. Lets see who can shoot them down. Exactly. Wolves went into this fixture understrength and Adams cost his side any chance of a point. Anyone with half a speedway brain can see that. -
Very true. Not been racing so going to be a bit stale as well. Uderstandable he wants to take his place though.

How was the attendance compared to Monday? Is the crowd levels still holding up or improving? -

Rubbish. Masters is riding well. You were a two man team tonight. Masters would have given you a much better chance of a point. -
Be interesting who of Bates and Ellis out on top tomorrow in the first round of the u21 final at Kings Lynn. Don't forget you can watch the meeting live on Youtube. They meet in heat ten. Hope theres no geo blocking for this meeting.

Just seen the Wolves team here. If they class themselves as serious title contenders why the hell is Masters not riding? His meeting in Edinburgh was off early giving him plenty of time to get to Manchester. Honoring a guest booking in Hanson is not winning mentality. All well and good being honorable but its going to cost Wolves any chance of a point. Drop Hansen, give him some payoff money and go with your strongest lineup. poor show from the Wolves management. Short changed their travelling fans and give an easy win to Belle Vue. -
Next Season...promotion And Relegation....
Steve Shovlar replied to Gresham's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Exactly. Do well, get to the top and, hey, you cant ride here anymore as you are too good for the uk leagues. PL crowds are generally poor. Water down the EL to PL standard and you dilute the crowd equally. EL fans want to see a higher standard of racing not PL reserve wobblers. Great having two divisions but the top flight certainly needs to be stronger. No point in an A and B league. And there must always be a way where any rider in the world can ride in our top flight if they are offered a contract. Last thing we need is to bar the worlds best talent from our leagues. i personally dont like the idea of six man teams at all. -
British Speedway League 2017

Yawn. Another month another slit your wrists post about the same old thing. -
Bates reward was the final taking place on his own track. He had a huge advantage over the other riders in that respect. Had the final had taken place at a neutral track and he had still won it, then I could understand the argument. If the final had taken place at Poole and Ellis had won it, would you be saying Ellis should get the place on merit, as he won the title. If it had taken place at Poole Bates would not have got more than a handful of points at best. He is usually tailed off at the back. He scored 5 from six rides on his last visit. And before that 3 from 4.

Swindon V Lakeside 16/06.
Steve Shovlar replied to Sidney the robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Another meeting called off in dry conditions when there is a threat of rain. Same happened at Poole and Matt Ford apologised saying it was a wrong call. Seems the same has happened here. -
Nothing against Bates but Ellis is a far better and more accomplished rider. How anyone could say put Bates before Ellis is beyond me. Absolutely. Bates knew the setup having ridden there most of his career. Ellis gated and went wide in the final to block Lambert, who was superb all night, and Bates came through up the inside and away. Ellis is much more refined and of the two but it matters not who is reserve they will not likely ride.

Makes no difference who we choose. Poland. Dudek KK Zmarslik Janowski Denmark Pedersen NKI Kildermand Andersen Australia Holder Doyle Fricke Batchelor / Masters Sweden Lindback Jonsson Lindgren Nilsson Russia Sufudinov Laguta Laguta Gafurov? If were were not hosts we wouldnt be in the final.

I just dont get all this talk about young Bates. He must be well down any pecking order. Many British riders in front if him. If you consider Bates you should be considering Sargeant. Bates could possibly be one for years to come but right now there must be a dozen riders better at least. Woffinden Nicholls Harris King Cook Lambert Bridger Kennett Ellis Newman Starke S Worrall R Worrall Garrity Kerr Charles Wright Howarth Off the top of my head are in front of Bates at this time, and I could have missed a rider or two.

Ticket Sales At Belle Vue
Steve Shovlar replied to KIRKYLANE's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As Rob says they are sold out, as is the back straight. I managed to get two tickets on the west stand for 27.50 for two meetings. A huge bargain in anyones book. If 70% are taking the opftion of the Friday as well, then the stadium will be three quarters full at least for the race off. -
The land was given to the council with a covenant that it would always be used as a sporting site. The chances of it changing to houses in the next decade is not high.

Matt is a local lad who lives and breathes for his club. Why would he want to move Poole to Oxford, a two hour journey, for smaller crowds and therefore less money? Perhaps he is trying behind the scenes to get Oxford back up and running again in the PL, but to drop Poole for Oxford is nonsense.
