  1. Not quite irrelevant as it means we have Brady at reserve with the option for seven rides.
  2. Agree with that. His charity work has been exemplary. My only gripe with the guy is he cant be arsed to ride here. If he is tired, then drop Sweden. Riding for the right EL club would not only raise his profile but also attract quality UK sponsorship. As it is he is almost an unknown over here.
  3. True but some clearly were accusing Poole of cheating and bending the rules. However from past experience the word apology doesnt appear in their vocabulary.
  4. Now thats been cleared up I hope all the people on here saying Poole were cheating or bending the rules will have the courtesy to apologise. It was obvious Poole were not cheating but the usual suspects just cant help themselves. Time and again egg splatters over their faces.
  5. I remember talking to Davey Watt a couple of years ago and he said riding in Poland was like riding in a GP, with every race demanding everything you have. The pressure was immense. The same demand comes from the Poole promotion.
  6. Brown nosing? Hahahaha! Why do you think Poole are successful? Because no rider, no matter who they are, has a god given right to a team place for the season. While other clubs ponder, Ford takes action. As Matt said, it was affecting his business and there was a window of opportunity. Losing doesnt go down well with Poole sponsors.
  7. So what do you suggest? Matt Ford runs a class fir other promoters on how to promote speedway? Matt Ford dumbs down his club to give others a chance? If other promoters can't put together a team to challange is that also Matt Ford and Poole's problem? Everyone likes to have a pop at Matt Ford and Poole but really what is he meant to do? Dumb down his business? It's up to others to raise their standard to compete. At this moment he is not only head and shoulders above other promotions but his torso as well.
  8. Have I missed something here? What bending of the rules yet again? I don't see any 'bending of the rules'. It seems like some hysterical post after some other posters have gone off on one because they too don't know the rules. The rules are there to see about replacements as Skidder1 posted yesterday. Do you and others really believe that Matt Ford is going to announce a guest for a sick rider 48 hours in advance that is illegal? What would be the point? The hysteria on here is hilarious.
  9. Yes when Ellis comes in as Poole number one we are going to sign Dudek to replace him.
  10. Pooles crowds have been very good this season. And the holiday season hasn't yet started. I seriously believe 95% of speedway fans don't give two hoots how the sport is run 'at the top'. All they want is some good hard racing. The negativity of this forum doesnt seem present trackside.
  11. We were reading exactly the same type of post a couple of days before Poole went to Coventry. Poole never win big away from home. KL have Iversen 12-14 points. Nicholls 10-12 Lambert 8-10 MadsK 8-10 This will be close again. 47-43. The loss of Newman the deciding factor.
  12. Really? And who told you this nonsense? Why? Are they all going to turn up and announce team changes live on Sky? Or are they going to make another type of stand on the third bend with scaffold and planking? Kev and Nigel can check up on them between heats to see how they are getting on. "Pass a clamp Horton". Sod off Rosco". Shhhhhhh! Danny Smith has been told by a bloke down the club who lives next door to a chap who walks his dog in the park where one of the track staff takes his kids that Lyon is going to protest on the day. What kind of protest will it be? Banners saying 'Chapman, we want a team as good as Poole!' Sit on the track and chain yourselves to the starting gate until Emil is signed?
  13. Clearly not as good as he was ten years ago but still very decent. Watched his televised meeting in Poland last week and he was very good. For a rider who has maintained his place in all leagues it shows his professionalism in the sport. Has a 6.55 average in a tougher league so capable of that easily enough and a rider who can beat the best. I had a good chortle at your post stevebrum. First sentence ridiculing the signing and saying it is a backward step as he is in decline. Then in the next sentence you say he can't be as bad as Watt so its a win. Lol! Yep a dreadful call at the time. Probably a money saving excercise though.
  14. Not being an afficiado of the finer rules, I am sure Matt Ford hasn't broken any. He has given the Kings Lynn promotion 48 hours notice that he is using Robson, plenty of time to call 'foul' and stop Robson being used if against the rules. Lynn have no reason whatsoever to ride under protest.
  15. The reason Hortonhad is moan about Matt in the Star is because Coventry wanted to sign Bjarne and a deal was being done. It looks like Watt's performances didnt i prove so Matt decided Bjarne to replace Davey, scuppering Hortons deal and leading to him making the comments in the Star.
  16. Sorry Davey has gone but he was really struggling with personal issues which seriously affected his racing. I hope he gets his head together and gets fixed up soon. Welcome back to Bjarne. No doubt this makes us a much stronger team as he can score anywhere. Guess he debuts in 48 hours time. Good stuff tinged with sadness over Davey.
  17. Crowd was half of what is was a couple of years ago when I last went there (excluding playoffs) Probably about 25-30 Poole fans made the long trip.
  18. Absolutely gutted with the news about Kyle. Makes us so much weaker I am hoping for rain. Should be a fairly simple three points for Lynn but I am hoping the boys dig a bit deeper than they did on Friday. When are we going to put a full team out away from home? First Brady, then Noddy now Kyle. Hope the lad gets well soon as we are going to miss him big time and he is good around Lynn. Alf Busk? Thought he retired years ago.
  19. But Coventry crowds are far too small to pay for such a rider. Half the Coventry fans have already deserted the club judging by the size of the crowd on Friday. Why would Horton want to splash out thousands when theres no one there to watch?
  20. Such ancient history, but I guess that's all Coventry fans can harp back to. As. a Swindon Town FC fan, its like harping back to the Div 1 playoff Final at Wembley against Leicester. We won and went up. Leicester stayed put. A great day. Look at the difference now. Same really with the speedway EL since 2010.
