  1. I am positive about any changes tbh, and the leagues could well be a better idea, certainly the elite has provided some great meetings lately but as a format it struggles. However the one real issue I have (and it's a total disaster waiting to happen) is the tactical substitute rule. Yes we all like close meetings, but if this is artificial (whether brought about by TR or tactical substitutions, it looks like you will be more likely to get unfair results. Yes, I love a 46 - 44, but not when it's artificially created to maintain 'entertainment'. Sometimes a hammering is the correct result. Who wants to see (say) Belle Vue vs Bobbington amateurs draw just because it keeps the excitement going.... The averages system is meant to deal with this and if it doesn't then that should be looked at, not allowing teams in effect to cheat because they are being beat.
  2. I suppose the concern would be that the top division ends up with a top 3 or four who can afford GP level heatleaders and they win it every year. Then the top league really would be unattractive because your team would just be fighting relegation rather than a title race. Dunno. If they make any change they need to make sure they have the loopholes covered or Matt Ford will run rings round them.
  3. Shame. Weather for next friday looking good though lads.....
  4. Dry, but the forecast isn't any better looks like may be HEAVY rain this afternoon.
  5. Any other team and I'm emailing the Speedway Star.
  6. Will be through for this given it's a blank weekend for the legendary tigers. Should be a cracking meeting as Plymouth are a strong side... but 48-42
  7. Berwick's scheme is good, as stated - and I'm pretty certain it will actually bring a few extra people through the turnstiles from the amount of people I've spoken to who plan on using the scheme at some point (taking 2 or three friends at a time).
  8. Scottish girls are the best in the world my friend - FACT.
  9. Poole's stadium is in a great location and wouldn't want to lose that, but surely they are a big enough club that they could merit owning their own facilities at some point... there are football clubs up here with half the support that have not bad (small) stadiums. I absolutely hate speedway having to rely on the dog mob, and in particular Clark whatshisname.
  10. Must admit I feel the same, would love to have seen Cook when we're down at Cardiff, but with his attitude riding at Belle Vue + new tuners I think he will have a real chance of qualifying next year. As you say though, King was really classy tonight.
  11. Plenty of guest spots available over the next couple of weeks, Newcastle have three meetings for a start. Swindon, Belle Vue and Lakeside are all riding, Kent have tons of fixtures and Bach will be riding abroad. No worries about being rusty before the Edinburgh meeting.
  12. Track should be in better knick than last week, drizzle overnight and now just light cloud.
  13. BBC website has gradually improved weather and now looks dry from late morning. Hopefully a good squad from Berwick will get right behind their lads but the Glasgow boys will hold their own.
  14. Very closely contested GP, excitement galore. Great to see Nicholls in a shirt.
  15. I think I read somewhere he was retired last night but may be wrong.
  16. It's good to have Cook in the premier though, he's got a bit of star quality about him...... Just not so great when your team comes up against him.
  17. Berwick will score but we should win by 8. Robson will do well so we need lawson back on home turf. Someone seemed to think ayres was injured?
  18. Usually when this happens to Lawson it's been machinery issues. By and large he's consistant. But looks like a fair appraisal.
  19. Well done Panthers, dissapointed but 3 points on the road ain't too bad.
  20. Should be a cracker tbh. Safe night all. There's always a bit of heat around Cook / Lawson clashes. LOL. Cook has every chance of winning the British Championship on Monday, he's not desparate.
  21. The only teams I'd bet money on reaching the playoffs are Glasgow, Somerset, Sheffield and Newcastle. And I'm usually wrong. Wide open imo. Wish I had been there tonight sounds a great one.
