The established mafia who try to control the sport, have a rule that new promotions don't have voting rights for 2 years !!!
-
Unfortunately that's a past promotion, and apparently not the only ones who have not paid riders, let's get behind the new promotion they are s breath of fresh air, totally different to any other promotion in worky or elsewhere
-
The 1k is for one promoter some teams have joint promotion so both go (2 x 1k) to make sure correct decisions are made correctly. A run to rugby £125 in petrol for Scottish promotions, 2 nights in Premier Inn £175 job done at less than a third of price to going to tenerife!!
-
A lot of the northern promoters are not happy about the money spent to go for a show of hands But the mafia win again !!!
-
Was told its costing 1k each to go to the conference to have a show of hands to pass what already has been agreed. This money could have been spent on a lot more things, like facilities for the fans in the stadiums, money towards some form of media promotion etc etc

A good few years ago was lying on my sunbed at a hotel in tenerife, Reading the speedway star, when this bloke came up and said am I in this edition, started talking to the bloke and it was Alan ham ex Bradford promoter, shared a few tails over a beer or 2 . He could not believe that me and a couple of friends travelled from Workington to Bradford every Saturday
-
Heard this at the worky practice session on Sunday, find it hard to believe, but maybe Mr Godfrey coming in to save British speedway !!!
-
It's in Tenerife so they can't run off back home if they don't like the decisions made, apparently it's happened before when held in the UK
-
Personally the riders named have been here and done a bit, but Rene Bach would be an ok signing, but may not be cheap flying in and out of the country, didn't our promotion say the team had to be at a budget they could afford, would like to see a team of tryers that would win at home. Than a few top riders who may bankrupt the club on the 1st season back.
-
Must be good to be retired and listen to pod casts all day
-
Not enuf riders to do one big league, also with Sweden , Denmark and Poland and international commitments, not enuf free days for the UK to run one big league
-
From what I gather some premiership teams are far from certain to run next year, Birmingham/Wolverhampton and Peterborough, so may have to persuade a couple of championship teams to move up. Think this is causing a lot of unrest
-
The 3 Danes from 2018 all rode in division 1 in Poland last year, if the same happens this year, they won't be available to ride for the Comets as these fixtures are usually on Friday or Saturday
-
All sorts of rumours at the moment, and some riders are wanting very silly money to sign for the club, but I do know that Darcy ward has recommended some Aussie riders, but won't bother to fan the rumours, will have to wait and see what happens after the promoters holidays in Tenerife
-
Long way for a rain off, or a dust off !!
-
But unlike Berrington lough which was in a field in the middle of nowhere, lots of people walk to the northside arena, so would probably need some form of lighting IF evening meetings were to run, and elf and safety poke their nose everywhere these days unfortunately
-
The league or Mr Godfrey
-
Not what I'm hearing, would cost a fortune to light the track, and the road to the track, as this would probably fall under elf and safety. Was told looking at sat or sun afternoon
-
If you get planning permission, take a look at northside arena in Workington, to see what can be built, but you won't need as much space as Wolverhampton not used to big tracks Good luck for the future
-
Soon but if speedway has no money why is it in tenerife ? Also, hearing still lots to discuss/decide on, teams to move up as big doubts about Birmingham/Wolverhampton team, and Peterborough, these may have to be replaced to make premiership viable
-
The ones in charge are that shortsighted plan B won't have entered their heads yet !!
-
Like usual some clubs can't see the long term benefits, they wanted to change things as it didn't suit certain clubs !!
-
I've liked it for you geoff100
-
The British leagues should be having British youngsters at 6+7 also British U24 in the team, instead of all the foreign riders imo
-
Probably will be sat or Sun but this will still cause problems for some clubs if they have riders in Polish division 1 or 2 who ride on Saturday, they will have missing riders,
