  1. Used to love driving down to Bradford on a Saturday nite in mid 80's early 90's after the comets closed on 1981.. a proper fast speedway track
  2. Probably only way they can get hands on a trophy when they had it over to the winners
  3. We had one like that at worky, Kenny 5 laps Fearon (rip marra)
  4. Glasgow used too when they had that girl !!!
  5. No got a filter that blocks all rubbish programs
  6. Meetings scheduled for Saturday afternoon so ok to go to station road club to watch gp as not going this year. My telly can't pick up eurovision
  7. Back in the day pork sandwich and scratchings at cradley, why can't something like this be served now ?
  8. Isn't that what happened in the past, team members were given an envelope before the meeting with expectations of score inside, this putting undue pressure on the riders !! Maybe a reason your trophy cabinet remains empty, may need a different type of team management??
  9. Better have a look at your trophy cabinet to see if you can evict the spider's and clear the cobwebs
  10. Think travel plus have a tour if you don't like doing things yourself, but obviously more expensive
  11. Saw this on email from British speedway network. Looks like they are comets fans as well as. UTC Live coverage starts from 8.30pm UTC. Best wishes,
  12. Looks like Poole fans don't like speedway!!! All they do is call each other names. No wonder everyone hates Poole
  13. Not totally sure, but thought I'd read that you have to activate new subscription in march as they (bsn ) are doing something techy with a new platform or something .
  14. Yea agree it's a bit out of the way, but so is Redcar they have a good track good racing and the crowds are on the increase, IMO if the product is good (good track/racing) the crowds will follow . hope the weather improves so the guys can continue the good work, and maybe get some training schools in to test the track and bring some income into the club UTC
  15. Singy13 will agree to agree marra, but blokes at work who go to town matches all the time said crowds were well down !! Hopefully the comets will have the best crowds in West Cumbria
  16. Don't think town got anywhere near 1000 at games, only won once all year and nearly folded mid season
  17. Guess we have to wait for the fixtures coming out, but would be happy to run may to end of August, every 2 weeks, then if qualified, play offs in September, before the weather turns unlike last year when still trying to run final at very end of October
  18. Imo for a new beginning of the comets around 10 home meetings is ok, a meeting every couple of weeks at home away matches in-between, got to remember some of the riders in this league will be riding in the championship and will not be available every weekend, also sometimes less is more, and probably more affordable to people every couple of weeks especially in the current financial climate
  19. Probably similar crowd levels, but paying less out at championship level, so the fords make more money??
  20. Just had a look at championship fixtures, Redcar, Glasgow, Berwick etc seem very spaced out, weeks without home meetings , lot of fans not happy with the fixtures on this forum , maybe comets will get a few fans from these tracks to swell the crowd ?
  21. Top prize £20 not enuf to split. Not a bit of wonder rye house/lakeside closed, if that was the top prize for a 50/50 draw, think the comets fans bought most of the tickets as well
  22. But I did not win the money !!! But was there and was not enuf prize fund to buy 4 pints at Southern prices niver mind buying a round
  23. Question for people in the know THG maybe, is there plans for a clubhouse bar/food outlet, maybe port a cabins, like Redcar or scunny ? Fans can meet have a drink/food putting profits back into the club, I know it's still a few months till season starts but would be good to know
