  1. Quite a lot of riders have good sponsors large and small all add up, these are used to cover machinery costs, travel money is paid by the promotion home and away, so points money is the riders pay, if you are the better rider scoring 8 - 10 points they could have a pay packet well of over £1000 a meeting, twice a week 25 meetings is 25k or more in just over 6 months, I have to work 40 hours a week 52 weeks a year for that figure. Yes the young riders have to start at the bottom on less money, but how many are full time speedway riders ?? Not having a go at the riders, it's a dangerous sport but they have to be reasonable when talking to clubs, just because this is in the comets section it applies to all speedway clubs. Thoughts anyone ?
  2. Good to see 2morrows end of season presentation and party nite is sold out, more fundraising for the club, will we hear some news about next season on the nite ??
  3. One big problem with lowering the averages is the following year riders are on a higher inflated average then maybe not get a team place, As usual the ones in charge have no ongoing plan, do this one season, then do that another season, if they don't get their act together and have a 2/3 year plan speedway will bump along until no clubs are left !!
  4. Does that mean the returning comets get 3 times the allowance as triple champions H18TORY
  5. But they are getting a large % pay rise
  6. And if rumours are correct most of the No 1's in teams now won't be in the league in 2024 (josh pickering ryan Douglas, sam masters etc ) so top money for a diluted product !!! Just hope fans will support a higher level speedway with weakened teams
  7. Apparently 38 points and 1 rising star is gonna be the limit Sam mcgurk the rising star for me, can see luke going to Redcar or scummy, then we have just got to attract riders to make a team probably a lot will depend on race day/night if we get some lights
  8. Was hungry so took the bait hopefully in 2024 when the comets and tiggers clash, i can meet some off hear who've i have had banter with over the years, just hope tiggers don't win
  9. So being triple champions in 2018 do comets get 3 goes with riders with a dodgy average . H18TORY
  10. Can we have Dan bewley on his 2018 championship average? Glasgow have form for getting riders on a dodgy average, so maybe the comets could
  11. I wonder if the sponsor of heat 20 in the NDLRC a clue to the comets No 1
  12. Exactly, then where are the many unlucky kids who don't get a rising star place gonna learn to get better if no more NDL !!! Once again lack of forward thinking by the bspa
  13. Yea gonna be good when Mr shovler realises his beloved team has to be massively dismantled
  14. If the rumours of points limit being 36/38 plus a rising star, think your beloved team will need major surgery to get under the limit
  15. Poole out on a limb for the Comets and other northern and Scottish teams as well but the comets supporters will be down to see you UTC
  16. Not in the season ticket package an extra meeting, spend some money Mr shovler and see what a proper track looks like
  17. Yes have a run up to sunny Workington, think coild be a good track with no rain forecast, should be the same if not better racing than last week, if you have seen clips of heat 15 as good as belle Vue if not better lets hope
  18. The NDLRC is suppose to be a protected event, but because Godfrey and Co have their own agenda, the rules aren't enforced, and the NDLRC line up and Workington fans are left with crumbs
  19. The line up for tomorrow which should be the best of the NDLRC is left very watered down, for various reasons, but to me a lot of it stops at Mr Godfrey and the bspa doors !!! This apparently is a protected event, but 2 riders are at scummy, yes some are injured, one I think has returned to Aussie, and probably the others can't be arse@ but seems like the fans have got to put up with a 2nd class event. BUT can all the comets fans and traveling fans come down to support the promotion to show we love our speedway
  20. Will Joe T not be banned due to missing NDLRC on Sunday to ride for Poole
  21. Who has stated they are not running any team ?? Andrew bain said after the Kent meeting they have/are in talks/meetings with bspa with regards to next season
  22. Apparently this is a protected meeting, but some riders have been told to ride for Poole and scunny, looks like the leader of the bspa Mr Godfrey does not abide by the rules, just what is best for himself and other clubs
  23. Was a reply to a post on Facebook by Workington comets that they are still waiting for the official lineup from the powers that be (Bspa) Just about sums up them in charge !!!
