The effect of a tactical ride will not be lost on Lemon, he'll remember 2006!
-
Yes. His record at NSS is not as bad as some think. Has just collected two more engines I think so we'll see what pans out but I don't agree that he'd ever go into a meeting with a defeatest attitude. Had to smile at his April Fool joke though about the weight of ridersš I agree wIth others that away from home he should be riding at No.2.
-
I don't think he turns up beaten before he starts - 30 wins out of 130ish rides there, suggests he was down on what he should get. However he's never as good on a slick track and did have poor gate positions in his first two and then up against K&B in his third. This is what makes a good team, covering for those having an off night.

It's because it's not the racing which attracts the numbers, nor is it cost alone. People need to feel they get value for money and have a good time when there. Not stand around disengaged - it's engagement which is key.

I thought Tate looked quite good in Aus over the winter so I'd expect him to get good results in the UK this year.

Workington v Scunthorpe 18/04/26 3 pm. BSN Series.

I thought this was an entertaining meeting, was impressed with Luke Harrison, Nathan Ablitt and Ryan Ingram. -
š¤£Maybe but I don't think there's any changes this year, from what I've seen. The first meeting at Foxhall was no different to last year (except for the dusty track)and it was run at a good pace.
-
I only ever saw him trackside when it was a TV meeting (apart from when he first took on the role and was getting to know how meetings ran across different tracks) to help make sure the broadcast was good. Now there isn't a TV deal why does he need to attend? Surely he can direct and be involved via discussion during meetings with those involved?

But none of those quotes mean that they're not trying to win every race! There's a lot of myth about machinery - the overall performance is down to rider ability/skill and the machine working well in tandem. On a big slick track the engine is more important than it is for most tracks in Britain and riders can spend an awful lot of money for no gain, wherever they ride. -

As has been said before, UK league speedway is not as easy as some think. -

My prediction was awful 𤣠On another night could've been a different result, some seem to be pressing panic buttons/writing off Lynn's season already after two meetings! They will have better results. -

48-42 to Lynn -
Not really true - the way they have to be ridden today though is different. I remember Chris Louis saying he'd not like to ride todays bikes as they only really suit slick or consistent tracks, full throttle all the way, as you'd ride in Poland but in years gone by more throttle control won you races and you could use grippy/slick parts of the track to your advantage more. Seats are also much higher these days. The issue with any fence is that you go from 60mph to zero in a short space of time so injuries will happen no matter what but we do see more use of the wide outside lines than ever before (where only the very brave/skilled would tread), which could be the feeling of safety brought about by air fences.

SGP coverage in UK for 2026

Ha! A re-worked face never does it for me, despite other features. I liked Abi - let's hope Emma gets some speedway knowledge. -

Blimey, the wind made it feel like the Arctic at Foxhall tonight. Bomber, Kvech & Lawson were entertaining, shame the bald dry track made it a bit of a gatefest. The Lynn reserves will get better, Scott in particular looking on the pace. -

Anyone know who's doing this - are Re-Run involved or is the writing on the wall for them given this development? -

A stream can never beat being there. I'm the same as Racing Jason 72 and buy streams for meetings I'd never be going to but attending those I can. -
That's no good Mike, it has to be something we haven't heard before, not a regurgitation of a BSPL press release.

You're right but of course long term issues would not be negated by cessation of the sport for 7/10 days. The point I was making was about the diagnosis - this is not straightforward and many riders will have bangs on the head with after effects but may not be diagnosed with concussion. -
Mine would be: 1. Fricke 9.89 2. Howarth 5.00 3. Lawson 6.83 4. Nicholls 5.26 5. Kvech 6.91 6. Zischke 3.00 7. Cairns RS Total: 36.89

I think Lawson has always divided opinion - never seems to be good mates with anyone else but he's a very reliable scorer.

Concussion/bang on the head can be difficult to assess though - I had a wallop on the head and was dizzy/headache for a time and was withdrawn but then felt better and got reinstated for my last ride, with no issues.
