I see Scunthorpe had DOUGLAS withdraw last night with a wrist injury. -
Sounds like a good time to scrap practice at GP,s altogether, should have been done years ago.

Newcastle V Redcar Pl (sun 18 May At 6.30pm)
bigcatdiary replied to StevePark's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Apparently not, it was even mentioned in the star this week. It doesn't exactly install confidence does it. -
That thought crossed my mind as well, and for those thinking it cannot get worse we have Lakeside tomorrow apparently sponsored by Dulux Paint Dry Productions.

Dreadful GP which is a shame after the first 2 this year. Just pleased no one else got badly hurt but it's a miracle, needs serious work for next year.

Interesting. -

You mean like he is storming the EL this year, let's be clear here Kings average has dropped so much he can now double up. Worrying signs for me as our top GB riders all now appear to want to ride in the PL, not hard to see why GB is in the state it is.
-
Robert Lambert cannot double up because he doesn't have a PL MA established prior to the start of the season, would have thought a member of the BSPA MC would have known that.

Peterborough Vs Edinburgh - Tues 6th May
bigcatdiary replied to scotchopper's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I have thought for years this is a basic problem with the speedway management in general. They treat supporters with complete contempt and try at all costs to keep them completely in the dark, honest and up front is much the better way but it's something this sport is dire at and is a major reason why it's in the state it is. -
Adam Roynon Dropped By Sheffield

Agreed, and the BSPA can only be taken to task for the complete shambles we get like this on a regular basis. -

I agree, Truckfest is the likely problem here or rather the usual mess they have left the Showground in. -
Rye House V Peterborough 4th May
bigcatdiary replied to Dave Stummings's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Not really a lot to grade though was there as it was quite slick, I thought they just about watered it enough to avoid the dust but I accept it's notoriously difficult for a sunny afternoon match. I did think Panthers would be closer but problems throughout didn't help. -

Indeed, and you never know who you will bump into with his dad. -

I can see this being a lot closer than the challenge match earlier especially with Bowen up into the team and Bunyan now back from the GP's Panthers were missing Blackbird and Jacobs last time and it was Dryml's first look at the track, after Wednesdays British SF I expect both the young Brits to score well, certainly more than RR and Danny Philips got us last time. Plus the bonus that I wont be wasting my money on the fish and chips this time around. -
Peterborough V Newcastle - Tuesday 29th April
bigcatdiary replied to NeilWatson's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Thought it was a great meeting, plenty of passing and more than enough incidents to keep everyone happy including Sky. I certainly don't think Newcastle were unlucky not to get anything as they were beaten by the better team but they played their part well and battled well despite their problems. Pleased to see Rosen walk away from that spill it looked horrendous. -

Their is a good rail link to stansted airport from Peterborough, at least hourly if not more frequent than that.
