Stars v Panthers 01/09/22

Money dictates what sort of guest you get, always has and always will. Riders worried about getting injuries shouldn’t be riding speedway. -

I would have thought a decent guest for Palm Toft and RR for Andersen would have been a better way to go and possibly attract a few Panthers fans but Lambert and Wright do nothing for me and like a lot of others I will pass. Like a lot of others on here I will not travel to watch an uncompetitive team. Crowds so far at Peterborough have been good with Mondays attendance very good but this attitude to guests is testing everyone’s patience. -
Riders don’t even think about it.

The track had been relaid since last Thursday and looked in very good condition with plenty of material on it. -

Difficult to say Tim, a lot of people seem to think it’s down to the quality of the tyres, it’s not the first time we have had tyre problems at Peterborough -

14 per team, 2 to each rider. That was reduced this year to 9 per team -

Teams get 9 tyres each at Peterborough (up till this year it was 14) because of the circuit shape and speed, 3 other tracks have the same allocation because they wear tyres more than the other U.K. tracks. I was told they didn’t have enough tyres left to complete the meeting, most of the riders were wearing a tyre edge down per race. Tyres are clearly not up to the job, we have had several instances of problems like this at Peterborough in recent years. -

A lot is going to depend on how Andersen and Nicholls go today, they will both have at least 12 rides between them so need to be scoring well above their average. -

Yet again the inside was the place to be if you made the gate with very little chance of anyone making an outside pass. I am sure Kings Lynn were delighted, Not sure Peterborough fans would be of the same opinion. Fast race times generally mean a grippy white line, a trapping contest and a follow the leader from start to finish. -

They did Theresa but this year Ostergaard , Nicholls and Andersen have been awful, Palin wasn’t much better before he got injured and then MPT then got injured, last year we coped with the injuries but this year it’s been a catalogue of misfortune and injuries. It takes its toll. The track yesterday was dreadful and as has been said had no outside line at all, wasn’t helped by a couple of fliers from Jorgensen that surprisingly was allowed to go on from Tony Steele or his trainee. Let’s hope it’s rectified for 2023. -

If they had raced on the track they produced it after a lot of work it probably would have done but clearly they decided otherwise. The circuit they raced was as slick as sandpaper and wasn’t conducive to good racing, just gate and go. But if that’s what your used too and like then fair enough but at Peterborough we like proper racing. -

That was being talked about last, but as they say until a contract is fully finalised for next year they are not going to replace lights unless they have to because of cost -
I know a few people that didn’t pay anything for a middle tier ticket both on the bends and the straights.
-
No we haven’t

That’s the point though isn’t it, in your opinion, as in previous conversations our opinions are different.

When I arrived at the track around 5pm, the track staff were just getting access to it as it had been too wet to do anything with, the surface was bladed off and they all restarted laying a fresh surface with additional new material, once relaid it looked quite good but very grippy, once the riders and management s looked at it, it was all bladed off again, difficult to imagine who requested that. But that left it slick with pretty much nothing left and a trappers paradise, times were good but the racing was complete shyte and didn’t suit anyone on the home side other than Basso who was riding with a shoulder injury. It certainly didn’t suit Bomber and with Andersen and Nicholls on their usual steeds it was very predictable which way this match would go. For the record I still don’t think Lynn will make the Play offs -
No need to panic yet If what I have been told is true the question supporters should be asking is how many of the 22,000 supporters at this years Cardiff GP actually paid for their ticket. £62 for middle tier this year and quotes of £70 for 2023 have left me thinking enough is enough.

Wolves v Sheffield - Monday, 22 August
bigcatdiary replied to Roger Jacobs's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It was entertaining only because it was close, the racing was typical for Monmore with most races decided by the first corner. I thought it was a strange decision for Sheffield to use R/R with this match the only one taking place but to be fair 9+1 was a good return, Masters didn’t look or sound fit enough so like Kelvin I was surprised Adams put him into heat 15. -
Seems odd that Ipswich are abiding by regulations.

He can’t be arsed either. Its becoming apparent even supporters can’t be arsed either, that will be another idea shelved after one year.

Yes indeed

Aggregate BP making a return from 2023?
bigcatdiary replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Aggregate points seriously favour the technical tracks. Lets keep it simple 2 points for a win and 1 for a draw And let’s scrap tactical’s as well Just keep Golden heats for aggregate ties
