According to the Rye website there will be some news in the next few days. Took a massive gamble on Watt last season, it may have cost us a play off place. Also, the experiment with Kennett as a number one didn't work. Swindon were all but written off when they announced their very top heavy team, but they did the business with a few tweeks. A number one that can win races home and away must be a priority.

If fixed race nights leads to regular 1-7 line ups then that's a good thing. One of the biggest gripes has been the use of rider replacement and guests for absent riders.
-
I'm not convinced Sundstrom is a number one in this league. We need a consistent big hitter, not a load of seven pointers
-
I'm sure you don't, but perhaps the person who told you does. I've been told many things in confidence regarding signings, often from very reliable "sources". I'd estimate that about half of them came good.

Did you? Did you really?

Do you honestly expect the Glasgow promotion to move up and lose lucrative gate money from meetings against the likes of Edinburgh, Berwick, Newcastle, Workington? You're closest away track will be over 200 miles away

Is This Swindon Team The Best Of Recent Times?

What a clown -
I'm only interested in team speedway. Individual meetings do nothing for me. Agree that there's something special about speedway under floodlights Apart from missing Rye House and Pie & mash I'm enjoying it. Mind you, the last couple of days have been pretty nippy which I'm not liking. Still braving shorts at work though. Gotta show these Scots we ain't all southern softies!

There won't be another meeting at Rye this year

There are two Tigers in the Championship.

Probably a few who's form dips towards the end of the season for the same reason
-
Hmmmm.... not sure about that. Still some questionable away performances.
-
Nailed on for Berwick, a Saturday track
-
Yeah, I know all about that. Same reason Branford wasn't going to return this year
-
Not convinced he's 100% motivated these days. Lack of meetings hasn't helped him this year.
-
Think Luke probably has the drop on Ben, but I doubt he's interested in anything but NL racing
-
Wolves have done ok with Grieves on a 3 point average, Jack Smith hasn't exactly pulled up any trees at BV

I've been watching NFL/MLB since the mid 80's and have become used to it. American football and baseball have many breaks. You learn to live with it after a while. Speedway is fast flowing, your regular 15 heat meeting should be done and dusted within 90 minutes, even with advert breaks every four heats.
-
My gut feeling is that the BMR promotion are gradually moving away from Saturday fixtures.

Overreaction

While I'm as pi$$ed off as the rest of you with some of the inane rubbish that masquerades as "banter" on this and many other threads, I'm uncomfortable with restricting fans to their own teams threads. My personal stance is proper moderation. Weeding out the ridiculous point scoring posts and a warning to the participants.

Wouldn't be any need for this if the site was properly moderated.

Americans do televised sport better than anyone. British broadcasters could learn a lot from them
