Warsaw GP 2022 Saturday May 14th
screm replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Agree with you on Woffinden, the fire and ambition has gone. -
Left the track by ambulance, hopefully as a precaution only.

Definitely not, and don't even think about mentioning that you cant pass at Berwick. -
Berwick v Redcar Saturday 14/05/22 7pm
screm replied to Normski's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
The meeting took place this afternoon so clearly it was impossible for Harris to get from Berwick last night to Poland for a Sunday lunch time start, personally I would've much preferred Harris at Berwick last night but its not like that nowadays. Still he ended up with a bronze medal which is a decent return, might've been better had our former World Champ Tai Woffinden been in the team. -
Benjamin Basso`s Danish team Vojens has a home meeting with Brovst this coming Wednesday so you`d imagine Basso will be selected for that.

Poole Pirates Vs Berwick Bandits 18/5/22
screm replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
As long as he comes through his meetings between now and Wednesday Chris Harris will return but there`s a big question mark over Leon Flint, Ty Proctor and Jye Etheridge so it will be a mixture of guests and R/R that makes up the rest of the team. Either way I expect a comfortable home win. -
Isn't speedway rules complicated enough without introducing another new rule. More complications.

Completely agree, no excuses on track prep just now as there is no football so the track will be open all week. Maybe someone could point out a weather forecast or two and necessary preparations made. -

Least enjoyable meeting of the season so due to the stop start nature, understandable with the Jye Etheridge crash in Ht1, but the incessant tractor, water breaks meant the meeting took well over two hours to run. Berwick had very little luck and after losing Etheridge their task was virtually impossible but they did make a decent fist of things. -
Leicester Lion Cubs vs B.V. Colts 14 May 2022

If Blackburn has lost all his equipment in a fire then I understand his absence and have every sympathy for him, hopefully he will be back soon. But this isn't the first break he has had from speedway, if his heart isn't in it then he might be better off out of it all together. -

I wouldn`t disagree with you but speedway fans up and down the Country are used to seeing their riders racing elsewhere rather than for their own club. Berwick aren`t weakened to much IMO as Nick Morris is a more than capable replacement for Harris. -

Thank you, I wasn't aware of that. -

I see he is with holding his services and taking time away from the sport again. -

I see its r/r for Jack Parkinson Blackburn again, I take he is injured. When Belle Vue were at Berwick a couple of weeks ago nobody seemed to know why he was missing. -

Sun is out, weather set fair. Major task for the home side tonight and last nights home defeat at the hands of Poole won`t have helped. Redcar do have riders that can cause Berwick problems round Shielfield, hopefully our guests perform and we take advantage of good old R/R 47-43 either way -
For a whole variety of reasons I`ve never been confident that speedway would or will ever return to Brandon, this is just another nail in the coffin.
-
Looks like there has been a major fire at the Brandon Stadium over Thursday night.
-
Still a very decent field, sadly though no Tai Woffinden to lead Team GB.
-
I saw Harris had been selected to ride in this meeting and kind of thought it was pushing things to get from Berwick out to Poland for a lunch time start.

Newcastle vs Glasgow 8/5/22 4pm??
screm replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Can`t see the club being fined, track work has begun with the postponement of Newcastle`s next home fixture, probably at great expense to Rob Grant. If there isn`t an up turn in attendances especially what has happened in the last couple of weeks Rob Grant could be massively out of pocket. -
Taken from Facebook The Newcastle Speedway promotion, along with the sports authorities, have taken the decision to postpone our next home fixture on Sunday 22nd May against Scunthorpe. This is to allow for essential track work to be carried out. The promotion is working with BSP Limited and the Speedway Control Bureau to carry out this work. We will of course keep all of our supporters up to date with this work, and hope to have everything complete and approved in time for our next fixture against Redcar on Sunday 29th
