A genuine question because I’m curious, does Sweden pay more than what the UK does? It seems like Sweden have no issues attracting the top names and the travelling time is negligible if a UK side is offering to pay more…

Sweden used to pay "double ish" according to one international rider when interviewed five or so years ago, (he said he got around £6k), with Poland paying between five and even over ten times the UK depending on your level...

The pull of Sweden was also you only had to ride on Tuesdays, and could travel via ferry with the machines from Poland after racing at weekend there....

The UK could mean Monday and Thursday in any given week, and needing to keep machinery over here...

Sweden though, I believe, again though a more recent interview, is now more parity payers for most "decent riders", with only the top lads getting the bigger payouts...

Again though, even for a "decent rider" it logistically can be far more appealing if they are Polish or Scandinavian based, rather than the more meetings they have over here, and the travel...

The difference in standards of tracks too have also been mentioned by some riders, with Sweden having much more access to tracks and some top notch preparation machinery...

Sweden definitely isn't the pull it once was though but still seems to have an advantage in the minds of the majority of European riders who race in Poland..

I think Killeen has done ok this season, but I don't understand why they took him out of the draft & "saved" him for 2025.

Officially they could've picked Jordan Jenkins as "RS".

As I understood the selection process the 2024 club that the RS rode for would have the chance to retain them so Jenkins would be first choice to Ipswich, whilst Oxford had a choice between Boughon & Killeen & Ashton only wanted to be where "Bomber" was going to be.

Dan Thompson was their RS last year.

Jenkins wasn't a RS last season so no club has first dibs on him, without covering old ground again, it's implausible to believe Jenkins would not have been picked before it got to Ipswich

Maybe I could have phrased it differently.

Last season Jenkins was an Ipswich asset. Ipswich used Dan Thompson as their RS last season, Jenkins was eligeble to be used as RS last season but Ipswich chose to use Thompson in that role.

In 2025 Dan Thompson is no longer eligeble to take an RS position so Ipswich had the choice as Jenkins was under an exisiting contract with the club so they have priority.

As with Oxford in 2024 both Ashton Boughen & Luke Killeen were eligeble to take the RS position but in 2025 with both still able to take an RS role Killeen was retained by Oxford & Ashton was signed by Kings Lynn as their RS.

If my post caused anyone any issues I'm sorry but I thourght it was obvious what my meaning was without an explaination

No he wasn’t.

And Ipswich had no “priority” over Jenkins for this season.
