This riding above their average theory doesn’t wash with me.He is not going to improve much, was he brought in to beat the 2pt men.Thompsen out of the reserves is also a problem.Cairns might steady the reserve problem, but others will have to improve.

If they were 20 points in front of 20 points behind, then I'd accept that reasoning. As it is it seems they needed to win to be sure anyway but the bigger picture would be to give Killeen five rides for his development of they didn't. People will disagree with it of course but I can see why that would have been done if they were through regardless.

If that was the case surely Killeen would have had a fourth ride at Brum on Monday and not been replaced by 38 year old Craig Cook.
lucifer sam
Has anyone got the time of Heat 15 from last night - thanks. Another quick question - what time is the curfew at Poole (if there is one). It was a topic of discussion on the terraces last night. topaz325
Well done to OXO , Poole will still be there at top end of the table at the end the season if they stay clear of injuries

I’d imagine that the money Glasgow were chucking at him is why he didn’t want to sign for Poole.

You imagine wrong Dan honed his skills at Leicester Plymouth and Ipswich all tighter smaller tracks Glasgow wanted him and I’m not saying it didn’t pay well but the chance of a bigger track appealed to him plus riding with Bomber

Which is surprising with it being in a built up area. Though at one point sure it was about 10.15pm. 'Poole Stadium is open for various events, including speedway fixtures, and does not have a set curfew for the stadium itself.' Anyway reflecting on last night now I've thawed out, well done to Oxford and especially Masters and McDiarmid, the latter never having seen the track before. Race times especially in the first half of the meeting were very fast, under 60 secs. Poole highlights (only a few!) were Anders in heat 3 and Rocketman in heat 15. Otherwise disappointing from the home side but hey we move on, it's still early days. Hope Gilkes recovers quickly from his kneecap injury. Perfectly understand why the track doctor/paramedic went with him to hospital, hence the delay.

Blatantly moved and all of us in the stand saw it, could not believe the ref didn’t put his red lights on as Masters then made the gate. Shocking from the ref but a deserved loss from the 4 man team pirates I think you've got confused. Poole still had 7 riders at the end - it was Oxford who completed the night with only 5 riders. Trackrat
No curfew at Poole, have used this to cheat when losing & got found out. Embarrassing situation with the lack of medical cover, very poor standards.

Dave_minall
Poole have clearly banked their entire season on Cairns coming in in July and reigniting the team, but by then the damage could already be done.

I don't think fans can criticise the Promotion unless they can name a better 2.00 rider. In Marson's defence he's not ridden against a fellow 2 pointer this season. Both Oxford & Plymouth have strong reserves. Biggest question mark for me is picking Starke ahead of Foord. Too early to say if they got it wrong, just yet. Marson has ridden against a 2 point rider, guesting for Edinburgh against Berwick - Dayle Wood. Marson was way off the pace in this meeting and only scored in a race with 2 finishers. Interestingly he was interviewed by BSN and he said he was riding with a knee injury which he picked up last year.
