Perhaps we have got this all wrong? To find out what made speedway so great back in the day the bspl and speedway futures have been watching  old episodes of world of sport with Dickie Davies and they have put their collective heads together and decided that Kendo Nagasaki is the marketing idea to follow, Northampton will not be revealed to the public until a few years time and compete all their matches as a complete mystery to the public, see there is us lot slagging them off when really a genius idea was being implemented all along

Showing your age there Dean !

As  I remember all the Wrestling greats  had second jobs even though the were on the TV each week traveling all over the country   perhaps  lesson to be learnt there by riders of today  .

And to be brutally honest, he's probably looking at where the sport sits and thinking, "do i really want to get involved with that again?"

Does sometimes feel like "don't worry about it, these mugs will come whatever we serve up".

Out of interest,  as someone who no longer reads the speedway star, how are they reporting on this?  Are they being critical or are they just pretending everything is ok like they did with the Coventry and Peterborough fiasco in 2011?

They have been quite critical of the whole thing in several pieces written...

Fairly done as well...

Yes definitely. I think he does odd things with Paul Weller too.

I also liked the new faces with Steve Marriott.

A great song... along with another classic of theirs... "Everlasting Love"

They don't make 'em like that anymore... and haven't for a long long time...!

Those were the days , for music, fashion, massive crowds at speedway, everything. Top tune Everlasting Love. I remember when Joe Johnson from Bradford became world snooker champion in the 80s. He brought out a cover of that song. It wasn’t bad to be fair though obviously not as good as Love Affair.
