Ben Barker’s a top man. He’s the sort of character you need in the pits with a proper selfless mentality. I find his interviews on BSN so insightful. At the CLRC, he was telling the cameras how he had no track intel because he was the only Plymouth rider there, so the only rider without teammate to share track tips with. He guested for us in the home defeat to Poole earlier in the season and gave it 100%; something you seldom see in a guest.

Also more bumps 3 years ago than now. It was awful years ago, really bad when we staged a gp challenge qualifier but apart from the odd meeting, recent years much better. The hot weather I am sure plays havoc with track prep.

Have to agree with all the comments about Ben Barker; always gives everything on and off track a proper team man. I also remember seeing him being interviewed on local Tv in his usual enthusiastic manner this time as a water tanker driver, I think, during the pandemic. Except when it comes to another club calling and wanting him to sign for them mid-season and asks his then current club (where he was captain) to release him. Yeah, very "selfless". You clearly haven't seen their safety record. Wizz Air is widely regarded as one the safest low cost airlines on the planet. No accidents, and only major incident was a tail strike in 2022. Clown! Also more bumps 3 years ago than now. Quite a while ago now. My first couple of meetings there were in 1993 & 1995 while on holiday, it was the old narrow track but was prepared well and was fast. There was also some good racing in the late 90's / early 00's as the new shape.

With Schrocker in charge we having been ahead of the game and using this 75% rule already this season wether we needed to or not 🤣 Edited Sunday at 06:17 PM by Hilly

For someone who knows his facts, you don’t know how to spell. It’s Wizz Air, and Speedway would be at a complete standstill without it. Riders fly between Sweden, Poland, and the UK using Wizz Air and Ryanair.

I even said one very important fact in my previous post that you seem to have ignored. There's also Google, try using that, you might find articles such as the following.... https://www.airlineratings.com/articles/wizz-air-ranked-in-the-top-five-safest-low-cost-airlines https://www.euronews.com/travel/2025/01/18/worried-about-flying-these-airlines-have-been-ranked-the-safest-in-europe-for-2025 The hilarious thing about your posts is that you're calling Wizz Air an unsafe airline, when it is actually the complete opposite. Do you want to take a guess at how many people have died flying with Wizz Air? Go on... try and answer the question instead of ignoring it? The only scary thing is people like you posting complete fake news. Hence why I called you a clown, which is more than justified. HGould Posted yesterday at 06:55 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 06:55 AM Visited Plymouth for the first time this season on Saturday. Very interesting to see what they have created and to chat to a few local fans. They have created "an EVENT" and brought in, I was told, some University kids to do social media on the Event Day and have turned it in to a Saturday Night out. They have developed it strikes me a combination of a bit of a Millwall " no one loves us we don't care" mentality amongst the usual Speedway Supporter base and a "this is great fun and we can interact and participate" type vibe for the many who seemed to be both newcomers to Speedway and far less interested in the result than in the excitement. You'd never have figured they were bottom of the League with their top Rider missing, it didn't matter. It was buzzy vibrant and exciting. The Racing wasn't great to a Speedway fan, but to the majority, the noise, the smell, the atmosphere and the interactions with riders was what sold the event and it seems Crowds are UP down there! Well done to all concerned.

I've said it before, you can't fail to be impressed/excited when a newbie at Speedway, the sheer spectacle of it all live is brilliant... it's when these noobs start to become more regular and question why their top rider was missing the meeting to not ride elsewhere that the problems start. Well done to the Glads for showing some initiative though 👏
