The big question this morning ! Forget the fantastic racing at times last evening. What will the SCB do about Mr Nicholls ? They might be asking questions to the referee and the Clerk of the course and maybe Phil Morris as well.

What did I miss ?

Decent meeting and good comeback although it meant nothing in the end really despite getting a point.

Good crowd for a tv meeting so the club will be happy

kurtz was very slow last night, i wouldnt say his eyes are fully on the prize, he was trying everything last night, just ;acked speed.

our frailties are certainly costing us right now, just hope they can find some form for the play offs.

the way the team is built R/R will never work for us, especially when its one of the top 3 that are missing

Guessing rock / paper / scissors rather than a coin toss for gate positions?

really?...both captains weren't bothered at all by it...now surely the SCB have bigger problems than this to address.

Personally thought it added something to what is usually a boring to a coin toss,

Speedway was top drawer last night with one of the best meetings of league racing, lets not lose sight of that with trying to find something that isn't there.

Lidsey rides got 5, that i includes Dans extra ride, still way short of what Lidsey has been getting around the NSS.  Kurtz extra ride nothing to do with Lidsey.

Kurtz extra ride because they were in T/S territory. By your reckoning, Lidsey would have been scoring well, so the T/S wouldn't have been needed - thus, using your yardstick, everything to do with Lidsey.

Nope, it's a chance to see another race with the top riders, adding to the value for money.

But why only add to the value for money if there's a draw? What's so special about that result, which requires an extra race?  What about a team only losing by 2 or 4, and earning another race to try to win or draw?

Some teams could go all season without a Stupid Heat, while others could have three or four.

If they want to add value for money, add an extra heat (or two) to every match anyway ...

Brennan has definitely had his bad days but I thought he was excellent tonight and so was King, Ellis is the only one that could be deserving criticism.

Not severe criticism, but I agree that Brennan didn't ride defensively against Cook. Coming off the second bend he went madly wide, and then off the fourth bend his back wheel wasn't on the grip, so he couldn't match Cook who got his wheels in line perfectly.

Heat 8 was a disaster. King didn't even look competitive. No idea what happened, unless he thought that everything had gone so well that he needed to make some changes?!

But if Lidsey rode it’s unlikely you would have used Kurtz in heat 7 and get 3 points …. Lidsey would have scored in heats 3 and 5 no doubt so although Ipswich would have been ahead you probably couldn’t have used a tac sub in heat 7

If Lidsey rode both races and won them both we would have been 6 points (Rather than 14) behind in heat 7, so would have still had Kurtz as a tactical.

Whilst it is almost certain Belle Vue would have won with Lidsey, you can't start a home meeting like that, if Lidsey had been riding Belle Vue would still have been 8 down after 2 races. Ouch will tell you they don't change their team mid season but maybe changing Tate and possibly Blodorn should have been considered, don't know who for but Glasgow got Nagel so there are options out there.

Hey Roger by my reckoning using the score sheet  even if Lidsey had won his first 2 races, we would still have been 6 points behind by heat 7 so would have still been able to use Brady as a T/S.  so based on that and the fact R/R only got 5 points, i think it safe to assume that BV won have almost certainly won a drawn meeting with Lidsey riding.   Glad to clear it up:)

Heat 8 looked bad especially when you see Mulford who was not great miles in front.

Maybe the FA could adopt it? Add a bit of spice to the coin toss for ends 😀
