Poole v Plymouth Championship

Recommended Posts

Just got back and a decent win but the track tonight was frankly rubbish. Underwatered, hardly any passing and plenty of races spread out. Gate 4 was the place to be if the rider was brave enough to blast around the outside.

It was a packed out Wimborne Road which is great to see. So many come along to watch the Pirates. Just a shame the show put on is just not good enough. Track needs a big makeover, no doubt about it.

As for Plymouth, we’ll take a bow Dan Thompson. Did more than a good enough job and probably scored quite a few more points than Klindt would have managed. Backed up by Scotty Nicholls who loves Wimborne Road and it was always going to be close. Frederikson backed them up and with a few Poole riders far from their best, it turned out as I expected.

Hope Ben Barker hasn’t broken anything. It was a nasty tumble while under severe pressure from Anders Rowe. He lifted entering the third bend, looked to be heading for the fence, over corrected and ended up flying over the handlebars exiting the fourth bend.

For Poole Lawson was his usual excellent self. Tobias poor, Kerr let a silly third place go on the last bend when not concentrating, Cook poor never looked like winning a heat and looked like he was standing still when Nicholls passed him, Rowe tried but not got the form of earlier this season. Starke did his job, and Cairns showed good form until his last ride when he was completely asleep at the tapes.

We really do need to step up our form, but at the same time we are still winning. The track needs attention though, sooner rather than later.

Well another week another struggle for the pilots oh dear 😁 think the bonus point is Plymouth's to lose, with the home track advantage they have, will be a big noisy crowd cheering them on, good luck from oop north

It was a better result than Oxford achieved who are meant to be one of the main contenders in the play offs, if we had lost to Redcar tonight there would be pages and pages on here. We won but still get slated because we didnt win by enough. Going to be tight for the bonus point but we can do it. Zach rode so well for Belle Vue but struggled tonight. Dan T was a great guest for them and so was Darryl, Perry also rode well. Starke was better too which was encouraging.

The track is always rubbish so must have been abysmal tonight.

It's the shape and also the material doesn't appear to have enough clay mixed in.

Wow you do write so much garbage

Klindt loves the Poole track … 10 from 4 and 12 from 5 last season

Nicholls scored 6 from 5 in the cup final but loves Poole lol

Decent win??? By 6?? Against a team with 2 weak reserves and getting an injured heat leader during the meeting after 1 ride to be replaced by average reserves

Poole are struggling … Glasgow and Redcar must be licking their lips …. Glasgow to finish top and Poole to face Redcar in the semis

Barker isn't a heat leader, otherwise IRR would have been covered by second strings.

Glasgow will probably finish top. But could be Poole vs Edinburgh.

Glasgow are a different beast now with Nagel replacing Boughen.

We also didn't have Leon or Ashton in our away match at Poole, since then Dan and Leon have hit some good form but we still have a bit of a mental block regarding racing at Poole, if we can overcome the Monarchs in our KO cup match then we will see how we fare at Poole then. ( although we have a big job to overcome the monarchs as they ride our track very well)

Pirates are certainly riding with a lack of consistency in the team. Last night both reserves exceeded their averages while the main 2-5 under achieved. Its Glasgow's to lose now unless the Pirates can get it together!

You write some garbage too.

Dan T got 13 that is more than 10 or 12.

Steve did not say Klindt hated the track.

Nicholls usually rides Poole very well, he isnt going to beat Lawson not many do. He rode well last night but we had riders who clearly were not at their best. The middle order were poor, they have to be better in the play offs.

All Glasgow riders hitting top form now and looking like the favourites for me. Nagel signing proving very influential, he really is an exciting prospect.

Poole struggling again it seems to put away a side at home

The loss of Barker hasn’t helped and the reserves are poor so basically a two man Plymouth team keeping it close which is amazing

Poole are out of form maybe they can find it come the play offs

your obsession with Poole really is an odd one.

Not really a mental block more that they just need to gate!
