It could if the weather don't play ball in October end up being even more of a shambles, coz for arguments sake if the Leicester/Ipswich fixtures aint completed for wotever reason who wins the League, Sheffield for finishing top after all fixtures have been completed or Ipswich who sat top at the cut off date, or does Scotty get Max Fricke n Danny King together for rock/paper/scissors🤣

ouch Posted yesterday at 09:49 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 09:49 AM Well done to Sheffield for topping the table. Best team in the league over the season and even more remarkable given the injury to Tai at the start of the season. You need commending for how you got on with the task of finishing top following that set back. No continued bleating about your misfortune or spouting what you would have won like some teams from down south where we’ve had to endure the same all this season as well being told they will take all before them. True class Sheffield and a lesson to those that are lacking in that department. Fingers crossed to more war of the roses encounters and seeing the bend two barmy army at the NSS again. 1 1
Ben91 Posted yesterday at 10:25 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 10:25 AM Nothing like the last match of the season deciding who comes first in the league. Especially when the winners have already been “knocked out” and can’t win the title. Speedway strikes again.

Could quite easily have altered the play off dates, and maybe they should be held after the last gp anyway to stop the Kurtz farce happening Then we could have completed the league and had the correct teams riding against each other once again no lessons learned after last years farce

Can I have some of those sour grapes 🍇? 😂😂 - Why do so many people talk about Ipswich fans saying they will win the league when it’s only a select few? Last night would have been a different meeting entirely had it been raced before positions were decided. And unless Brady and Dan say they weren't trying in the semi at Foxhall then that's only a guess as well. Phannan Posted yesterday at 02:52 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 02:52 PM Fingers crossed for Leicester to come out on top in the final . Professional throughout the season and especially last night. Fricke has been outstanding and deserves to be a champion. No going through the motions. What happened to Doyle and Brennan ? Let’s hope they turn the switch back on for Torun.

UK Speedway does have a particular unique capability for shooting itself in the foot doesn't it? 😁 A fantastic adrenaline fuelled sport that gets undermined, (it appears at almost every turn), by some self inflicted Mickey Mouse nonsense delivered by the sports' custodians . Running qualifiers (that would still determine final positions as to who rides who), AFTER the Semi's have been completed? Tick... Running a play off semi final in Div 2 knowing riders would be eslewhere, so ending up with 3 guests for one team? Tick... Running a semi final of the flagship Div 1 competition 48 hours before the biggest meeting of the global Speedway season, knowing riders will be focusing on that major meeting? Tick.. The racing is, for me, as good as I have seen at any time in 55 years of watching... What a shame the nonsense around it undermines it so badly...

Ive said elsewhere that it’s the rules & lack of credibility that does more harm to the sport than the racing. The racing is just as good now as I’ve witnessed in the last 35 years however it is much faster. I’ve also watched plenty of highlights on you tube from the golden years of the 70s & 80s & it certainly wasn’t any better. As with any sport if you have a competition that people want to watch so atmosphere is generated & businesses are willing to invest the actual visual product plays second fiddle.

Best team in the league over the season? How come given, Tigers were not the team who won most matches nor the team who lost the least. But were beaten quite a few times in the league & in the playoffs by the team that did. Better luck next year & yes I really do hope a new owner can be found to give it a chance to happen. Yes, Leicester won the most matches, but Leicester and Sheffield lost the same number. 😉

So It’s difficult to agree with the claim that Sheffield, who the Lions beat on numerous occasions including the playoffs were the best team this year. But congratulations to Tigers for finishing top of the league (somehow)
