I predicted that they would win over two legs but didn’t expect the Lions to go to Foxhall without a lead. You do not win a two legged tie when losing at home. The reserve imbalance says it all. Three points for the home pair! Kemp’s equipment let him down tonight, but yet again we’re carrying someone who simply cannot beat an opponent if they complete four laps. I’ve defended Joe T for some time but my patience has finally ran out with him and it is clear that he cannot cut it at this level, as even when he traps, he’s passed within a lap. In fairness to Joe, it is like a decent Amateur Non League Football player being asked to play in the Premier League against some of the best in the world... Riders of Joe's level (and there are quite a few), shouldn't be riding in the top tier... Does nothing for the spectacle or the fans, and even less for them...

Started this season off with Cook & Hagon when neither should have been anywhere near a Lions team place, has stuck by Drew Kemp & Joe Thompson for far too long... he does talk a good game though, I'll give him that! ... having said that, on a positive note he has been the most successful Leicester manager ever, winning us the league & Shield in 2019 and the Cup this year, not only that but he has made Leicester a competitive force to be reckoned with after always being a Cinderella club with some terrible manager through the years. He does seem quite charismatic, speaks his mind and is generally quite upbeat, I do feel at times though that he has a CL mentality rather than a PL one especially when it comes to rider selection at the lower end, maybe he's been a bit too loyal to riders not performing (Cook & Hagon). He called the riders out last night for "playing" on their phones and it was interesting to hear that John McGuinness also made a similar comment when he was interviewed

Last night also proved why Drew Kemp has never quite got to the level he should considering his ability. Everyone has bike issues sometimes and one duff ride is acceptable but to have 4 is unacceptable.
89buttons
Really enjoyed my first visit to Leicester last night, good crack with the home fans near us and nice to see so many other witches fans make the trip made a great atmosphere! flicking through the races this morning to watch again with replays etc. have to say while there was no contact Dan T was harshly excluded - olly called this on commentary saying he was taking avoiding action when he lost control. All four rider made a good start fighting for the same bit of track, basically by excluding him and not calling that first bend bunching to me the ref is saying next time don’t lock the bike up to avoid Ryan Douglas on the outside Dan just ride your normal line and send him into the fence and I’ll put all 4 back in because you bunched up.

I would imagine that he stuck by Kemp as based on the September averages he has put the largest percentage on his starting average. Be interesting to see who the Supporters Club give most improved rider to this year as last year Becker won the award and was the only Lion to reduce his average throughout the season!

WookieboyDon
Those that were on their phones should be embarrassed. No wonder Dickson gave them a dressing down.

They pi$$ed the semi final and they’ll pi$$ the final. Secondly, no not everyone DOES get injuries. Some are more fortunate than others. It’s pretty unfortunate to lose not just one, but your TWO most important riders at the exact same time isn’t it? Ipswich lost the biggest weapon in the entire league when Thompson got injured. At reserve, he was scoring heatleader points on a regular basis. And Doyle had started the season very well after almost a year out, until he dislocated his hip and hasn’t been the same rider since. I didn't feel the atmosphere it should have had but, i suppose because i was a neutral. Tbf to Leicester, it’s not likely to be a great atmosphere when it’s the away team doing all the overtaking. They’re split second decisions though for a rider. He had his wheels in line and opened the throttle and was making a pass. Stick or twist? Keep it pinned and make a pass in a grand final, or shut off and lose the opportunity. To be fair track was a little tricky early doors, quite deep and heavy. Had that been later in the meeting when it dried and slickened off a bit more, he could have made that move stick. Certainly don’t blame the boy for giving it a go.

Publicly having a pop at your riders on live TV isn’t going to have a great impact on team spirit IMO. More likely to have pis sed them off. I’m not convinced that doesn’t happen in every pits either. We only knew about it because Dickson told us. Wouldn’t mind betting that a few on the other side of the pits were doing exactly the same. He can be a bit over dramatic for me your manager.

It may well happen everywhere these days, but in any business if your performance is poor and you're seen to be sat on your phone instead of working you'll get very short shrift from most managers!

Having watched more or less every senior meeting at Leicester since its reopening I can't ever recall seeing a dive bomb into turn 3 ever being tried, let alone working, like I said turn 1 is for that move and you see it quite often, especially from Chris Harris
