'No signings' probably means 'no announcements'! Especially as Redcar are apparently announcing their full 1-7 at their Xmas party next week?!

Yes true, I probably used the wrong terminology there. I'm sure they all pretty much have their teams sorted.

In the meantime it looks like the Championship is business as usual. Fair play to them.

Berwick Bandits, No signings

Edinburgh Monarchs, Dan Thompson

Glasgow Tigers, No signings

Oxford Cheetas, No signings

Plymouth Gladiators, Scott Nicholls, Danny King

Poole Pirates, Richard Lawson, Will Cairns, Fraser Bowes

Redcar bears, No signings

Scunthorpe Scorpions, Josh Pickering, Ryan Ingram

Workington Comets, Jonas Jeppesen, Tate Zischke

Redcar are rumored to have all seven riders signed up , Glasgow will no doubt have Harris and a good few more already in line for next year, Workington will probably have the majority of the team in place.

I think many promotions will leave their final couple of rider announcements until later, just in case the points limit changes on 6th January.

Of course if the GP-level riders all quit the Premiership as Brady Kurtz suggests might be a possibility and they get places in Sweden and Denmark then that will free-up a few other riders who might then be looking for a place in UK.

At the end of the day it'll all come down to cost and what clubs are prepared to pay.

I think for the nine Championship teams it is probably "business as usual", and they will have their teams sorted...

Anyone they allow in later, (should they even do that), will just have to put together who they can...

My fear is the premier 5 are not going to let the championship be business as usual,?we have already seen a plan for 7premier and 6 championship with 1 team missing out, sadly I can see this mess ending badly for speedway

Maybe the current championship teams will resist that and if necessary form their own league under a different authority if required?

That's the spirit - let's close down 5 clubs so that we're OK :icon_smile_clown:

You do get a sense that there is a "civil war" in the offing...

Louis has failed to enter in to the spirit though and people are backing his right to do that.

Why shouldn't the championship teams do what suits them?

Could the Premier 5 run a shortened season covering June to August and use the rest of the season to run NDL teams. At least it would keep each of venues open while a longer term solution is put together. In that shortened season put highlights from the premier meetings on YouTube once a fortnight so as to get the message out to a wider audience and advertise all the other U K  tracks running with an upcoming fixture list etc. Surely something is better than nothing and possibly losing some clubs altogether.

Surely doing the right thing is ensuring league Speedway in GB continues for the next decade. Not ensuring GP riders can race over here?

Got no chance of lasting another decade regardless of structure to be honest.

Unless there is a Harry Redknapp miracle around the corner I think league speedway is finished in this country by the end of 2028.

Think your right Cookie possibly even before that certainly as a team sport, it was always going to happen but has taken a lot longer than I thought it would, really from 1982 to now but the fact it took way longer doesn't make me any less sad about the outcome given it looks like last knockings are nearly here.

Out of interest, is it known publically who the 7 are and the 6? I'm assuming Ipswich are the ones not running?

No-one has said that. Louis has merely put the club up for sale.
