SteelShoe
The gauling thing is Poole have riders who can handle a bit of dirt. To sacrifice putting on a more entertaining spectacle for supporters and paying public in the wider interest of a sport that is in accelerated decline is hard to fathom. If Glasgow had gated better that result could easily have been reversed.

I paid 19.99 for what I thought were the 2 legs of he final. Only to discover that I had to pay another 9.99 to watch tonight. What was my 19.99 for? BSN need to come clean about what people are paying for. In any event the track was awful, and despite there being a good chance of better racing at Glasgow I feel well and truly ripped off by some underhand marketing. Quite apart from only being able to watch on my iPad, with only sound on my Sky Q box. Really p****d off and BSN have to make amends before I open my wallet again.
Steve Shovlar
So 12 points it is. Should have been a bigger margin but silly errors cost us. Starke in heat two getting slower and slower allowing Hodder by. Tobias in heat 6 when he should have settled for a 3rd and a 4-2. Still 12 points is a good defendable lead to take to the second leg. Pirates stood tall to the 5 Glasgow heat leaders, with the reserves cancelling themselves out. I said there is little between the reserves and so it proved (one point) Got a shock in heat 15 when Poole choose 1 and 3. Lawson had just been beaten by Harris in heat 13 and the two lined up alongside each other again. This time no mistake and Lawson rocketed from the tapes to lead. Cook then made a superb cutback down the back straight to come up the inside of Harris and sealed the 5-1, for the Pirates faithful to take the roof off the stadium. Brilliant stuff. Is 12 enough? I think it’s going to be very close but the boys have given themselves a good chance on Friday night.

I have to agree, cooper rushden and cairns at reserve next season racing there are probably setting their careers back a good couple of years by which time europes best will have been racing on proper racetracks constantly learning their trade on a surface that gives plenty of opportunities to pass
MB723
Same story as last time, kept them close then dropped it in the last 5 heats where a top heavy team is supposed to be strongest but I think it's still very doable on Friday. Impossible to pass and not that exciting to watch unfortunatly, our riders like sending it wide and pulling their arms out in some grip which you can't quite do here, they're also not gaters aside from Dan which doesn't help but that's home track advantage for you and it's up to our guys to work it out. I can imagine actually being there is a different story entertainment wise, the riders are close together and there was always threats of a pass. Add on a large crowd giving some atmosphere and it could be a great night, it just doesn't come across on stream well.

But the track was always going to be this way so if Glasgow didn't set up for better gating then I really don't understand why. Or maybe they were just outgated a little bit on the night? On the flip side these Glasgow boys can be wild at Ashfield and if you tell me Flint and Nagel are in double figures I wouldn't be surprised at all. A joy to watch at times.
szkocjasid
Can't see Glasgow pulling back 12 points. Poole big favourites, of course it's not an impossible task, but a very difficult one facing the Tigers.
mikebv
Surely the biggest objective for every promoter is to get as many punters in to their track as is possible...? To do that, (like in any business), you need to know what your punters want.... Poole seem to know more than most what generates good crowds so not sure why they get so much grief... I look forward to the 2nd leg where I can watch 15 heats of Poole gating and the Tigers flying around them, bend four, lap four... They will have the title wrapped up by heat ten though if fhey do that, so may need to go a bit easy in some heats to keep the scoreline close, so those watching at home feel that they were entertained enough......... That's why there's never any racing just gate and gone 🤣🤣

old bob at herne bay
Well the Poole supporters will be only moderately happy with that ....... winners of Mastermind 15 heats and no passes 🙂 They have the sort of crowd who think anything less than a 30 point win at home is a poor performance and will start slagging off their own riders 🙂 These visiting teams must know by now that to win at these slick tracks you have to learn to GATE GATE GATE. Poor show from Glasgow who should have known what to expect. With a threat of torrential rain in the forecast , the poole promotion would have taken a lot of dirt off and packed it down hard to avoid a costly postponement. A large crowd in paying £2 over the odds for a 15 heat meeting.... a rain off would have been a disaster. Luckily the forecast rain didnt arrive and the meeting was done and dusted by 9.30. 1

Bagpuss
Glasgow will need a large slice of luck or the meeting of their careers. Poole are experts at getting the job done and I think they probably will, twelve points is a big deficit.
