From watching the replay multiple times I am not sure if a supporter was struck or not. The footage is not great but I am wondering if they maybe abandoned it due to the state of the fence?

Best wishes regardless, if anybody was injured.

Bike struck three people in the crowd, one not seriously injured but medics and ambulances required for two spectators.

The referee abandoned the meeting due to the suspected seriousness of the injuries to the spectators.

Thoughts with the supporters injured, speedway isn’t important right now. Watching the live Feed Allen picked up and lifted straight into pit gate fence, coming out of turn 4 at full speed with the bike hitting the fence so hard, it lifted and went over into the crowd from what I could see.

From watching Tv the bike  cleared the safety fence hit the barrier where the crowd were standing before bouncing back into the the space between safety fence and crowd.Hopefully injured are not serious and speedy recovery.

Rules are:

– If aggregate scores are level but the second meeting has been abandoned then aggregate point is given on countback of heat advantages (most 5-1s, most 4-2s etc) over the two meetings.

But I'd much sooner hear the news that no-one is badly injured than confirmation of the result.

Like you say the result is irrelevant ,more important is the injuries to people who were involved.

Most important hope everyone is OK

I think Glasgow will have to go through.

Purely LOGISTICAL

I am sure there will have to be a Full SCB / Local Authority Health and Safety review and Track Inspection after an incident of this nature. These sort of things can take weeks. Remedial safety measure may be ordered.

I suspect therefore that whether by default or not, the pragmatic resolution will be GLASGOW

This implies no blame on anyone but ALL Motorsports are potentially dangerous to competitors and spectators and due process will have to follow

I don't think they will announce anything until they know the fans are okay. Fingers crossed they are.

One poster has said it is just on 5-1s which would be a bit harsh seeing as there was only one over the 2 legs.

Another poster has said 5-1s and 4-2s. Both teams have had a good amount of 4-2s, so would be fairer if they were included imo.

Hoping the injuries aren’t too serious , it was an alarming incident to witness.

Glasgow have a history of having matches awarded in their favour against Redcar , even after the SCB initially said the fixture should be rerun . We wait and see…..

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to a road traffic incident this evening (12 October) at 19:38 on Dormor Way in Middlesbrough. We dispatched one ambulance crew and one patient was taken to James Cook University Hospital."
