Glasgow need a signing more than Scunthorpe did. Scunny could have used guests or r/r all season, but Glasgow only get a 28 day facility.

Means there could be a situation where a rider leaves a club, but they can't sign a replacement & the facility runs out before the Important matches at the end of the season 🤔

Scunthorpe wouldn’t have been able to run R/R because Gilkes was dropping to reserve this month. I think it’s perfectly reasonable that you are allowed to replace an injured rider and thought it has always been the rule.

Me too,,i can see the reasoning behind the deadline,it was to stop the Robert Lambert situation of signing someone in time for the playoffs, but thats dropping a rider not replacing an injured one. And how was Scunny supposed to plan on the possibility Gilkes gets injured a week ago?

You’re getting your Lamberts & Woofindens mixed up there.

Robert has never taken the place of a dropped rider in time for the play offs but he has twice replaced a badly injured rider. One of those occurrences though was against the rules.

It was Max not Brady. Easy mistake to make given our play off injury jinx. Brady was injured the year before with Charles being the one to miss out the following year.

Anyway back to Poole 2026!!😊

With fixtures now coming thick and fast for August I'm aware of one rider who has had positive discussions with the club - but not sure whether as a guest or permanent?!

As with any rider - it will please some but not others.

If Craig Cook was a 3 point rider I still wouldn't want him.

If (God forbid) it ever was Craig Cook, the DJ would have to find the 'Rawhide' theme tune again - 'Rolling, Rolling, Rolling'!!🤣

Was there not a tale going round some years ago about Mr Cook in a car with others when there was plenty of rawhide on show? The tale did happen but the event was only alleged

He's been in the Poole pits recently.

I have zero idea who it is but at a guess possibly Slater Lightcap given both him and Cairns fall under Greg Hancock and Hancock has connections with the Fords.

Been saying that for a while, definitely a prospect, had a good meeting at worky in the Ben fund a couple of years ago, now seems to be doing well in the GP2 and Poland
