I tried to get Pirate Lee to give you a shout out but he had so many birthday, anniversary greetings to give out, he couldn't fit them all in. Got a shout out as part of the NID crew

No mention of any royalties though. 😂
H20
Why do we have to get information so important put out through Cumbria Crack and not through the clubs own channels ? Something as serious as not running next year should not come out in a Cumbria Crack post. Some honest talking from James but surely this should come from Andrew

noaksey
Is the future for Workington (and a few others) in the National League with associated practice and open days?

Possibly , practices, flat track, old bike weekends auto jumble etc . Not confirmed about next year but this news does not bode well for 2027. Absolutely, let's hope it's not true or can be avoided but with the closure of the Comets at Derwent previously it seems there isnt enough support for speedway up there
WRDukes
Really sad to hear the Comets are struggling again. https://cumbriacrack.com/2026/07/31/future-of-workington-comets-hangs-in-balance/

Not confirmed about next year but this news does not bode well for 2027. As an autojumble organiser of 37 years standing, it would be unlikely to work, you need easy motorway access, a decent catchment area and sufficient footfall to entice stallholders . Years ago the Swindon VMCC Moonrakers ran an autojumble in the car park of the Robins Stadium, absolutely ideal venue only a few miles from J15 of the M5 for Bristol/London, easy access from the Midlands on the A417 dual carriageway, it worked well for a couple of years, then a decision to move the event to Lotmead Industrial site led to it's demise. I do not know of another autojumble which has succeeded at a Speedway venue ?
