Glad to see the Pirates are still attracting tourists. I tried to get Pirate Lee to give you a shout out but he had so many birthday, anniversary greetings to give out, he couldn't fit them all in.

Got a shout out as part of the NID crew

Aye you got more than a brief mention on BSN last night as well during the Scunny v Redcar meeting . Something to do with having the same name as someone famous. No mention of any royalties though. 😂

Why do we have to get information so important put out through Cumbria Crack and not through the clubs own channels ?

Something as serious as not running next year should not come out in a Cumbria Crack post.

Some honest talking from James but surely this should come from Andrew

Is the future for Workington (and a few others) in the National League with associated practice and open days?

Possibly , practices, flat track, old bike weekends auto jumble etc .

Not confirmed about next year but this news does not bode well for 2027.

Absolutely, let's hope it's not true or can be avoided but with the closure of the Comets at Derwent previously it seems there isnt enough support for speedway up there

As an autojumble organiser of 37 years standing, it would be unlikely to work, you need easy motorway access, a decent catchment area and sufficient footfall to entice stallholders .

Years ago the Swindon VMCC Moonrakers ran an autojumble in the car park of the Robins Stadium, absolutely ideal venue only a few miles from J15 of the M5 for Bristol/London, easy access from the Midlands on the A417 dual carriageway, it worked well for a couple of years, then a decision to move the event to Lotmead Industrial site led to it's demise.

I do not know of another autojumble which has succeeded at a Speedway venue ?

There is one in a few weeks time along with old bikes etc over two days.

Really sad to hear the Comets are struggling again.

Massive Shame if this happens , not been to Northside yet but always bump into Worky fans at the GP at Belle Vue and they are great , let’s hope a benefactor comes in.

Does anyone know if there's a semi rich local business man/fan who might step in ? I know over the years sadly the willing benefactors who would swoop in and be willing to write off 50-100k per annum has dwindled along with fans coming in through the gates but maybe there is someone.

Real shame as they seem to have an excellent track and a lot of work has gone into getting everything up and running.

Alternatively the sport as a whole looks at resolutions that would stop clubs losing serious money every season, perhaps this is what Coleman was getting at as in an 8 team premiership with everyone else in a watered down championship with reduced costs

Something needs to change regardless

Guess that will be a local bike show then ? cannot find any link to it on any of the motorcycle meet calendars, facebook events calendars Autojumble & Vehicle shows in the UK | Facebook or autojumble events calendars, where it needs to be in order to let people know where and what it is, so does not seem to be very well advertised ? got any links ?
