Why does everyone seem to hate Woffinden on here?

Not me, he's is a Great Britain Speedway living legend.

He's done nothing to deserve the hate at all.

I'd argue with anyone, that without him, we may never have seen the likes of Lambert & Bewley competing near the top on the World stage.

He singlehandedly demanded & lifted the standards of our international setup.

We were an international laughing stock before this guy came along.

He's a little hyper, swears a bit, has a little arrogance, grew up in Australia. Who gives a feck.

Wearing that Union Jack, he's given everything, almost killing himself a few times doing so.

Like you, I do not get the hate at all.

I don’t hate him, I don’t like him but I respect what he has achieved and as much as I dislike him he would be the first name on the list if I was putting on a big individual meeting because he is a headline generator and gets people talking and is vastly underused by British speedway as a marketing tool, the less said about his music the better though

I get the impression he's a bit "neurologically different" as i think the correct expression is these days. I doubt he'd have achieved what he has, and rebounded from so many setbacks, and maybe be as sweary, if he wasnt built a bit that way

Anglia news tonight mentioned the club takeover and stated a full announcement will be given in 2 weeks

John will be turning in his grave at the way CL has handled this.

Another opportunity to use the local media to the Witches advantage lost.

What has become of Ipswich Speedway that for so long has been a big part of Suffolk sport with a rich heritage of home grown riders and a management team who were true Suffolk folk.

Yes things move on and new blood is needed to take the sport forward but the link between local home grown riders and local folk is now gone.

Another chapter but hopefully not the final one.

A question mark sits against Mayfield as to whether they have understood on the broader picture what they are/have bought into given the inept promotional structure and the lack of vision by too many self interested parties who have spent too many years failing to deal with the here and now.

The corporate philosophy of Mayfield may well be the down fall of the league in the  UK. Time will tell and we can only hope that they can overcome the obstacles and influence the future direction of the sport otherwise it is curtains.

He is a team player as well. None of this riding off into the sunset and letting his partner fend for themselves. The effort he puts in to support every rider in the team both on and off track is second to none. He will increase the average of any rider in his team that is happy to listen to his advice.
