Anglia news tonight mentioned the club takeover and stated a full announcement will be given in 2 weeks

John will be turning in his grave at the way CL has handled this.

Another opportunity to use the local media to the Witches advantage lost.

What has become of Ipswich Speedway that for so long has been a big part of Suffolk sport with a rich heritage of home grown riders and a management team who were true Suffolk folk.

Yes things move on and new blood is needed to take the sport forward but the link between local home grown riders and local folk is now gone.

Another chapter but hopefully not the final one.

A question mark sits against Mayfield as to whether they have understood on the broader picture what they are/have bought into given the inept promotional structure and the lack of vision by too many self interested parties who have spent too many years failing to deal with the here and now.

The corporate philosophy of Mayfield may well be the down fall of the league in the  UK. Time will tell and we can only hope that they can overcome the obstacles and influence the future direction of the sport otherwise it is curtains.

Not me, he's is a Great Britain Speedway living legend.

He's done nothing to deserve the hate at all.

I'd argue with anyone, that without him, we may never have seen the likes of Lambert & Bewley competing near the top on the World stage.

He singlehandedly demanded & lifted the standards of our international setup.

We were an international laughing stock before this guy came along.

He's a little hyper, swears a bit, has a little arrogance, grew up in Australia. Who gives a feck.

Wearing that Union Jack, he's given everything, almost killing himself a few times doing so.

Like you, I do not get the hate at all.

He is a team player as well. None of this riding off into the sunset and letting his partner fend for themselves. The effort he puts in to support every rider in the team both on and off track is second to none. He will increase the average of any rider in his team that is happy to listen to his advice.

4.5 is what i heard.

Could be an absolute steal on that average was developing into a possible future gp rider last time he rode in the UK but a really bad crash set him back and then from memory he didn't return to the UK, if Northampton do run assuming they can't get a number one he is exactly the kind of rider they will need on a false average to make sure they win most of their home meetings.

Maybe Nigel has a brother who will be underwriting the anticipated losses for the coming season.

Doesn't have a massive hitter but it looks rock solid.

1. T. Brennan 7.05

2. R. Tungate 5.89

3. R. Lawson 6.81

4. D. King 6.50 or N. Klindt 6.46

5. T. Musielak 6.63

6. J. Thorssell 4.50

7. J. Edwards (RS)

= 36.98 / 36.94

I’d put Nicholls in over Tungate. Scott is still awesome around Foxhall & would out score Tungate comfortably at home. May not be so good away but you’d get more out of Nicholls over a season than Tungate. Also no concern if he will turn up or not.

Just think the PL is a stretch for Scott now as he would be doubling up !

What I would say if defense of Tungate is that he was a No.1 in 2024 and his 5.89 holds significant value in a weakend League.

Was he being paid by Oxford hence the problmes in 2025?

I don't think that's an issue - why rebel against not being paid by scoring less and thereby earning less when you do get paid.  The fact he was riding at No.1 in 2024 and is now down to 5.89 suggests a rider on the downward to me rather then plenty in the tank.  What he does have in his favour is that he's not a gating dullard.

You might want to revise that, because Scotty is in the team...

Good signing on a 5.25 imo, If Brennan is the No.1 then silverware is a very long stretch imo so the next best option is to build a Team to win at Home.
