1. S. Masters 10.09

2. C. Heeps 4.93

3. M. McDiarmid 5.18

4. L. Killeen 5.15

5. E. Riss 7.12

6. D. Gilkes 4.59

7. 2.94

Think Heeps will retire, put Jody Scott at 7 leaves a new 4 point rider. Seems realistic, as long as Riss is able to come back from his illness

I did have Scott in my original 1-7 but then I found out who will be lining up for Redcar in 2026.

If Jody is back at Redcar then I hope he does well. The injury to Nicholls at the end of the 2024 season is still having a knock on effect on the Cheetahs, Nicholls and Scott would have been in last seasons team if Nicholls was fit to start the season, circumstances meant they quite rightly accepted offers when they became available and now both appear to be back at those same clubs for 2026.

Id therefore go with Ritchings at 7 and hope they can fill the gap with one of the better SGP2 guys.

If Riss is unavailable then it looks tricky to find realistic alternatives if the one over 8 average comes in.

Summed up the situation well, much hinges on if Riss puts Oxford over Redcar and that he is fit to race again. Surely those conversations must have happened before Nicholls agreed a deal with Plymouth and Jenkins moved on.

Riss is not intending to ride in the UK next year per an interview in the Speedway Star.

Jenkins' Facebook post suggests it was his choice to leave Oxford for a 'new challenge'. Nicholls leaving was circumstance last year, and likely his choice not to return. If they don't want to ride for Oxford, then there is nothing that the promotion can do to make them.

It does start to leave questions about top end strength to support Masters though (assuming that he is back at Oxford).

If the rumours were true that Masters was owed money by the club ( amongst others ) then he’s not certain to be back , although those ‘ cash flow ‘ issues may have been resolved by now.

He's not 16 for a few months yet, so not is enough to sign for a Championship or Premiership team yet. Likely to be a NDL/NDT team, so probably Chargers, unless the pen is deliberately misleading

But Poole announced cairns last season well before his 16th birthday in June

I heard a rumour Kye Thomsen could be Oxford bound. Anybody else heard this?

I haven't heard that one, although wouldn't surprise me as he seemed quite popular when he guested. Only heard Gilkes, Killeen and Rushen so far.
