Exactly, it'll be the Premiership in name only tbf with what top riders are left to ride over here next season.

Imagine trying to explain it to a non-speedway fan- "so yeah, we finished 4th out of 5 teams but we won the league" Think this year will just be damage control- hopefully with serious change incoming for 2027... hopefully. They have all qualified for Europe though...

As Mike BV has said its most likely going to 99% of the same riders who are in the championship populating the teams but with an extra heat leader. And who wouldn't want to pay out around twenty seven quid for that? On a Monday......

Those in charge have really lost the plot and who with half a brain is going to want to watch repetitive matches with double uppers on inflated rates screwing the supporters because the TV income has gone south and someone has to make up the financial shortfall. Two occasions, Covid and the current situation gave the sport the opportunity to reinvent itself but what have you got, the same old scenario. It has failed the punter yet again and this time it will implode because no one is going to be fobbed off with this plan. BSPL, you really do not have a clue about your audience and are so far removed from reality by your actions you will fail and regrettably be instrumental in the demise of the sport in this Country. Thankfully we have Poland to fall back on. Its known as irony

I did like the press release saying "a unique set of circumstances" when it should really have read "a dreadful state of circumstances" have to give them credit for trying to keep it going but they need to realise it just isn't working in the current state and a risk is going to have to be taken at some point to turn it around. Surely a "self inflicted set of circumstances" should have been the press release? Imagine finding five people, in the 8 Billion on the planet, who actually believe that this is going to work? How on earth is this to the detriment of the sport, would you have rather that another 5 tracks closed down (remember they weren’t being allowed to join the championship) With the loss of so many tracks over recent years, we need as many running as possible and whilst 5 teams is far from ideal, it’s better than the league not running at all, and buys some breathing space for a year to regroup and come up with a plan for the future without having 5 venues/groups of fans with no speedway in 2026.

Ajr
Is it the time to drop the play offs in both leauges to determine the league championd? In my opinion they make all pre play off meetings meaningless, they offer no incentive to fans to support every meeting. Why follow your team away when the possibility of a win means nothing. Think this will also be evident in attendances when supporters have to watch the same team visit possibly 5 or 6 times in the Premiership. Play offs were there for the TV.

This gets trotted out time and time again, and it STILL doesn’t make any sense. Even in a cr@p five team league, if you get a standout team that hits the ground running and opens up a big gap early doors, EVERY meeting very early becomes meaningless, even for the club running away with it! With play offs, of course every pre-play off meeting isn’t meaningless, what on earth do you mean? Most clubs will be in with a chance of getting there right up until the end of the season! Of course there’ll be one or two who’ll cement their play off place in good time, and you can then say their remaining fixtures could be pointless. But play offs keep more teams interested and in the mix for longer, than just having the top team as champions. That’s surely obvious.
