Happy Hunter
Everybody seems to have forgotten that for several years Milton Keynes, which is only 20 miles from Northampton, had a team. Thats a lot nearer than Coventry, Peterborough and Wolverhampton!

Milton Keynes “The Grove” was just a tad over 4 miles from Newport Pagnell. But at 9.6 miles it’s very close to Brafield so let’s hope folk take the time to take in a few enjoyable meetings. old bob at herne bay
Milton Keynes ....last raced in Milton Keynes back in the early 90's ? Think i was a Hackney supporter then . Doubt there are many supporters who still have their programme boards from 30 years ago ? Guess t he Cobblers will be hoping that hte Stock Car supporters will transfer their allegiance to the 2 wheeled sport ?

There was an MK MDL team a few years ago, until the nomadic teams were abolished. Some fans came to Birmingham, at least.
BluPanther
Well, if Charles Wright was pencilled in for Northampton, they will now have to find a replacement...

It's certainly not an ideal start for the newcomers...
Fromafar
I wish Northampton well , but it does look a bit of cobbled together by Premiership Promotions to save theirselves.Who is chipping in the cash to get this project up and running though is the question that remains a mystery . According to Mark Lemon in the Speedway Star, the promoters (who and how many not confirmed), and some "outside investors"... Attracting a fanbase to support a team put together by the owners and promoters of some/all (?) of your opponents in the same league could be a bit of a tough sell... If they don't do well some may not be "too surprised" given their opponents put the team together..

I wonder if Plymouth still have their spare rider in storage somewhere? Maybe put him on a train and send him up to Northampton just to familiarise the new Northampton fans just what they're getting themselves into 😁

I would imagine they are waiting for all rider contracts to be signed before they announce, that would be my guess.

I've not seen it but just from reading the description on updates it sounded like a nothing fall... and he was stuck under the air fence. Another case of a rider ending up under the air fence, why is this still happening some 20 years after their introduction 🤷♂️
Bagpuss
Wright didn't want Prem AFAIK, Iversen very much on Northampton's radar and that may still be the case despite his fall. Smektala also in the frame as well as others already mentioned on the thread.
