Let’s hope the BSPL have been explicit in stating the requirements for Northampton Cobblers speedway to be granted a licence, and we do not have any unforeseen delays.

They are telling themselves what the requirements are....

The Northampton promotion must be BSPL lack of information. No team announced. No nickname. No promotion announced

secrecy and no engagement with the customers. Must be BSPL

From the press release:

"Premiership CEO Phil Morris said: “The people in charge of Northampton will make their own announcements in the near future but I know they have been talking to riders""

Wonder if this will be anything near the Northampton 1-7 for the coming season:

1 Jaimon Lidsey 7.87

2 Rohan Tungate 5.89

3 Nicolai Klindt 6.46

4 Charles Wright 6.11

5 Niels Iversen 6.71

6 Kye Thomson 3.95

7 Luke Harrison RS

Using the last updated 2025 averages including any reductions I think that the team total is 36.99

Who will head up the venture?

A promoter can't run two tracks can they?

Presume they will need a figurehead?

Chris Louis maybe???:o;)

Len Silver promoted Hackney on a Friday night. On the same Friday night 'Nel Revlis' promoted Sunderland.... so my money woukd be on Kram Nomel' promoting, with 'Brady Bewley' & 'Dan Kurtz' as the spearheads for Northampton Spades!!! 🤣

Given the importance of this new venture, they are going to need a big star to front the team.

Got to be Tai surely.

I did think about Tai, as the rumours were he was going to Ipswich and we were getting a gp star, but maybe the promotors agreed it would be better for him to go Northampton

They only need six riders as they could run R/R for the entire season and win the league. I wouldn’t bet against that with the current mickey mouse way of doing things. Why can’t we get back to the halcyon days of the 70’s.

Didn't White City do just that in the mid 70's?

Or get Eddie Kennett in for opening night then go with your plan match 2 to season end or Niki Pederson for another one of those awesome first corners.

Yep... 1977... What a season... I went to every home match and quite a few away...

But we did have Gordon Kennett riding to a 10 point average...

And the likes of Marek Cieslak, Kai Niemi, Steve Weatherley and Trevor Geer all maintaining a 6 or 7 point average...

So a really solid team backed up by riders like Mike Sampson and Paul Gachet more than holding their own at no.7...

Try putting a team like that together now...!!!

Good luck...

White City used rider replacement all season in 1978 I believe
