SPEEDY69
My prediction was awful 🤣 On another night could've been a different result, some seem to be pressing panic buttons/writing off Lynn's season already after two meetings! They will have better results. Edited April 13 by SPEEDY69

Take a bow Tom Brennan, From Rising Star to No.1 who beat GP Rider Max Fricke 2-1 in a Head-to-Head battle around the AFA is some achievement. Never rated King's Lynn before a wheel was turned and if Jan Kvech continues his downward spiral at King's Lynn then the Stars may even finish behind Northampton once the League gets underway because the Stars tail end is simply out of it's depth at this level. Pressure on young Cooper Rushen is ridiculous and it could hinder his progress and knock his confidence imo. Looks like Tom is starting to show his potential ,he was putting himself about in Poland at the week-end too.Hope he can stay injury free it’s along season.

Nobody is expecting double figures from him, but if he can contribute 5/6/7 in the middle order then job done. Think there’s more to come from this team. PHB will surely settle and improve as the meetings go on and once he does, we look very solid if unspectacular. Agreed, imagine if you'd have said 30 years ago that at 48 this young whippersnapper will still be gunning down the Stars in the next century you'd have been carted away by men in white coats!

Gavan
Awful team building by the Stars to throw 2 youngsters in at 6 and 7 potentially zapping their confidence

One of the things that has possibly held Tom back a bit (in the nicest possible way) was having Emil and Jason there! Saying that he will have learned a lot so his chance to be a no 1 is here! Wishing him the best of luck as I really think he’s a great rider in the making! He pops out and wins heat one against Fricke which is very impressive! great result for the witches - concerns for the Stars as ever early in the season!

Cooper being a No.6 at PREM level doesn't benefit him as a Rider at all imo when everyone else has started their PREM experience as a No.7 when being part of the Rising Star Scheme, Riders like Brennan, Flint, Rowe, D. Thompson etc. Cooper Rushen has been thrown to the Wolves imo. I agree with your first point, I don't see the rush for him to be a top 6 Prem rider in his first season as a 16 year old. Not sure if have recommended him as the RS either, felt there was no harm, starting in the Champ only & if he's scoring well, then look to step up. But I wouldn't say he's been "thrown to the Wolves" he could simply have said no thank you to the offer of a top 6 team place.
szkocjasid
I do feel like Lynn were thought of as a strong team by the majority & Ipswich as potentially wooden spoonists, hasn't taken people long to change their mind lol! I always thought Lynn had too long a tail & suggested Gusts instead of 2 x rising stars (pretty much got laughed at for that).

He might be only 16 but he is a trier, needs to work on his gating but he will be OK.

There’s always an element of home advantage regardless of track conditions, but it’s a fact track conditions can vary from meeting to meeting. A home team shouldn’t be allowed to spend a whole afternoon fine tuning the perfect set ups on the actual day of a meeting. It may not exactly be “cheating”, but it’s definitely off. Well it seems the whole afternoon just wasn't long enough to do the trick Uppa Witches

I'm not saying it's definitely wrong for Cooper to step up so soon, or that it definitely won't work out, just that it could prove disadvantageous if it hurts his confidence in such a tough position. He could have a long career in front of him, so thought "why take the risk"? Obviously didn't do Robert Lambert any harm, but most riders take smaller steps. I'm split on whether it's a bit quick or not... was impressed by his effort even when his own riders didn't help him by getting in his way or not looking for him in the first 2 bends. Phannan
Suppose this result goes some way to prove that getting dialled in on the day of the match means nothing for the home team. The problem with that is that there’s an away team in the equation. And the fact that they are probably better has an effect on the score of the meeting in the end. Donald God Trump knows how to win away from home .. allegedly

Only two trophies available and they’re already out of one of them. They’re going to have to change one of the middle men and either Rushen, or move Rushen to rising star and remove Scott and find a couple of 4-5 pointers. Do nothing and they won’t even make the play offs. Lynn still very much in contention for the wooden spoon 1
