From a point of view of young and upcoming riders. We could potentially ruin them by asking them to step up so early, which is why I still believe in one league only.

Take a bow Tom Brennan, From Rising Star to No.1 who beat GP Rider Max Fricke 2-1 in a Head-to-Head battle around the AFA is some achievement. Never rated King's Lynn before a wheel was turned and if Jan Kvech continues his downward spiral at King's Lynn then the Stars may even finish behind Northampton once the League gets underway because the Stars tail end is simply out of it's depth at this level. Pressure on young Cooper Rushen is ridiculous and it could hinder his progress and knock his confidence imo. Exactly we are potentially damaging our young and upcoming prospects.

Cooper being a No.6 at PREM level doesn't benefit him as a Rider at all imo when everyone else has started their PREM experience as a No.7 when being part of the Rising Star Scheme, Riders like Brennan, Flint, Rowe, D. Thompson etc. Cooper Rushen has been thrown to the Wolves imo.

Lynn have got their strategy all wrong here, again. No issue with signing Fricke, although saddled with such a high average in a league that reduced it total team building average obviously comes with issues in building the rest of the team, but they needed to be far smarter. They should have left out one of Harris, Cook or Kvech and gone for a couple of 4-5 pointers giving them a bit more scoring power and experience in the senior reserve position. They won’t win a bean with this team. I’ll just repost this from page one of this thread. They started with Fricke and then got it all wrong. Only two trophies available and they’re already out of one of them. They’re going to have to change one of the middle men and either Rushen, or move Rushen to rising star and remove Scott and find a couple of 4-5 pointers. Do nothing and they won’t even make the play offs.

cowboy cookie returns?
A great few days for suffolk Stars, canaries, Frick, Harris, Cook, Chapman, Clement, Darling, McLean you guys have taken one hell of a beating!! 😂 1
Aries
Pleased to see Scotty contributing. Nobody is expecting double figures from him, but if he can contribute 5/6/7 in the middle order then job done. Think there’s more to come from this team. PHB will surely settle and improve as the meetings go on and once he does, we look very solid if unspectacular.
SPEEDY69
My prediction was awful 🤣 On another night could've been a different result, some seem to be pressing panic buttons/writing off Lynn's season already after two meetings! They will have better results. Edited April 13 by SPEEDY69

Agreed, imagine if you'd have said 30 years ago that at 48 this young whippersnapper will still be gunning down the Stars in the next century you'd have been carted away by men in white coats!

One of the things that has possibly held Tom back a bit (in the nicest possible way) was having Emil and Jason there! Saying that he will have learned a lot so his chance to be a no 1 is here! Wishing him the best of luck as I really think he’s a great rider in the making! He pops out and wins heat one against Fricke which is very impressive! great result for the witches - concerns for the Stars as ever early in the season!

Not sure if have recommended him as the RS either, felt there was no harm, starting in the Champ only & if he's scoring well, then look to step up. But I wouldn't say he's been "thrown to the Wolves" he could simply have said no thank you to the offer of a top 6 team place.
szkocjasid
I do feel like Lynn were thought of as a strong team by the majority & Ipswich as potentially wooden spoonists, hasn't taken people long to change their mind lol! I always thought Lynn had too long a tail & suggested Gusts instead of 2 x rising stars (pretty much got laughed at for that).
