As has been said before, UK league speedway is not as easy as some think.

UK Speedway also isn't taken as seriously by a good many riders who ride in Poland...

"Much more fun to do"...

"You can ride often with, and against your mates"...

"No pressure, not like in Poland"...

Quotes from the past couple of years from some who ride in Poland every weekend...

Maybe machinery too isn't up to the levels of some who just ride the UK? You wouldn't want to spend a ton of money to not earn several tonnes of money...

But none of those quotes mean that they're not trying to win every race!  There's a lot of myth about machinery - the overall performance is down to rider ability/skill and the machine working well in tandem.  On a big slick track the engine is more important than it is for most tracks in Britain and riders can spend an awful lot of money for no gain, wherever they ride.

Paco really should have beaten King in heat 8, he had the chance to block his outside run but was too polite and left plenty of room.

He was culpable of doing that an awful lot in the second tier with Birmingham, he'd only ever move to the quicker wide line if he was chasing someone.  When in front he pretty much stuck to the inside, very frustrating.

Jan has even lost his place in the Polish top league and has dropped down a league this year after being part of Torun's title winning team in 2025.

Think he was always gonna lose his extraliga team spot as he's no longer an U24 rider.

I was only going to say what szkocjasid posted.  Kvech only an Ekstraliga rider because he filled the U24 berth.

Agreed, but if I was earning a five figure sum every weekend out in Poland, and picking up a lot less than that, on tracks that are not always the best either due to the actual material used, weather or just capability of track curators/equipment for them to use, then, even subconsciously, I am sure discretion will be the better part of valor...

Kvech is just topping up his wages.Good night or Bad night he’s not bothered.Probably on a gaurenteed amount.

I'm not so sure myself. I think Jan is just a 7 pointer (6.91) last season. Hes defiantly a trier though. He might up that a little this season, in a slightly weaker league.

Lots of excuses being made for underperforming EU riders imo, British tracks require skills while Polish carpet rugs don't.

Polish carpet rug tracks make a cluster of bang average riders look like GP superstars but if you get those riders on a technical British track that requires actual skills then most of them will get exposed by riders like Richard Lawson and Sam Masters just to name a couple.

But clearly it's the opposite of Lawson were racing in Poland, hence why he doesn't race in their top division

Yeah course it is. But as we’re here in Britain who cares about Poland? The same thing was said about Doyle for a few years now until recently. “Oh but Doyle isn’t the top man in Poland” all while he topped the British averages and by some distance until the last season or two.
