Normal services to be resumed anywhere else in the UK. 😂 Yeah I thought this too, think the predictions beforehand didn’t take into account this, plus it being the Comets first home meeting. They are all well on the pace including Ryan Ingram, who looks a great 2 point reserve.

Bagpuss
There were some excellent races but also a lot of strung out heats, feel that the venue would benefit massively from floodlights so the track guys aren't battling with the wind AND the sun. The shape is amazing and I don't think the circuit has fulfilled its potential yet.

Such an easy way to make the place look much neater and tidier. It was a bit too wet to mow

Last year it was patchy and dry in areas, so letting it grow out before mowing is probably a good idea.
Woke23
Very good win and some cracking racing. After 3 heats, I was expecting a battering. Then the track changed quickly, and it caught our riders out but not the Scorpions. Heat 15 was the best heat for me. Jeppesen gated, and rode a very good four laps to hold off pickering. Great bike control by Jeppesen to stay on the bike when he lifted exiting bend 4 on the 2nd, maybe 3rd lap Overall, pleased with the riding, a good, entertaining meeting, with the only downside being the dust. The evening start times will sort that out though. Edited Saturday at 05:09 PM by Woke23

FYI parts of the centre green are still under water, and have been for weeks, so unable to get onto the centre green to cut it, unless you want to come down with a pair if scissors to cut it 😜

Its a general bug bear of mine, especially when Elite League/Premiership meetings were live on national TV and tufts of long grass were poking out all over the bends and near the starting gate! Looks so amateur.

Comets riders looking for the outside to work like it was a couple seasons ago and there’s nothing there. Yeah there was some good races but once the track had gone too dry it was follow the leader. The track has so much potential to be one of, if not the best race track in the country and it’s just not. I know the early start didn’t help, it was sunny and a breeze, but I hope once the 6pm starts roll around it improves.
