Yes it’s always that dusty but that’s the best race track I’ve seen in a while.
Marksman Posted yesterday at 04:42 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 04:42 PM Fantastic meeting today, just shows what a fab racetrack it is. Unbelievable compared to what was dished up yesterday Healthy crowd, great racing, loads of passing, a freshly cut centre green, what’s not to like 😂 5 1

They have to work real hard on the track to keep the dust down yeah. 6pm starts from next week onwards, plus the floodlights arriving in mid may will no doubt assist massively.

Racing at Glasgow was better but I’m more likely to buy the Workington one again as the stream was better quality. The commentary was clear the camera actually followed the riders and there was no terrible itv style adverts during grading

Cook and morris did just fine

Makes a massive difference because in the afternoon the track has zero shade, after 6pm it’s behind the backstraight and all the trees. The sun just dries the track out in no time.

Saying they were poor is being kind tbh. They would have been in with a chance of more like a 10-12 point loss if they could gate. Shielfeld is like Derwent Park was, has its limitations because of its dual purpose but is exciting to watch riders fly into the 3rd/4th bends at speed. Third bend is the best place to stand imo. At least you’ve thought of something original well done 👏
