They held it at Poole as Poole thought it would be another trophy for them but it bit them on the backside.

Should be held on a PL track Kings Lynn.

Maybe they held it at Poole because Poole were the only promotion who offered to host it!!

Baffling why riders don't ride as a pair sometimes in meetings like this.

Seen it so many times over the years, instead of team riding and settling for a heat advantage their ego gets the better of them and they end up costing their team.

I've just seen the semi and I've got a bit of sympathy with Lawson to be fair, I'm not sure following Morris round on the inside at that point would have been the right choice with Kildemand blasting round the boards. Would rather give PK credit for an excellent ride.

So last night showed most of the riders for the CLRC on track. 9 days to Sheffield. Pickering must be favourite, but only the final is the one to win. 🤞it’s a good track to give some good riders a chance to win. Let’s see who pulls out before tapes up.

Bought the stream and quite their enjoyed the coverage. Felt a bit sorry for the person sorting out the graphics not knowing who was going where at the gate, even more so when Edinburgh went rogue with helmet colours! Charles Wright whilst exciting, was in my view over-riding. Oxford excellent all night.

Events like these should be at Belle Vue imo. Not only is it just about the most central, it’s supposed to be the “National Speedway Stadium”

I get where you're coming from tk a degree, but Lawson wasn't looking behind much, so it really just looked like he was trying for 2nd, rather than worrying about the rider behind coming round him.

He'd have known that PK was there though, there was also the risk that following Morris on the inside on that first bend could have given him the chance to clamp him and slow things down. It's a difficult one really, I dont think Lawson looked particularly quick in that race anyway as he had gated 2nd and Morris managed to get past on the first lap.

But my dad is bigger than your dad

Amazing counter argument there well done

Don’t think I’ve ever said a big event should be held at Ipswich … our track is as bad as Pooles I don’t deny that

But why hold a showpiece event on a crap track … the leagues best riders having to race on an awful track it was a borefest

Poole and Ipswich are very similar … riders race for both clubs because both clubs look after their riders extremely well … no rider goes to Poole or Ipswich because they are excited about the track …. They go there because they will be paid on time at a professional club

Thanks for buying the stream

Belle Vue for the pairs would not draw much of a crowd, it needs to be at a PL track to make it financially viable.

A reasonable turn out last night considering the weather conditions.

Hold it the day after the British SGP , 2pm start as in parade at 1:45 first heat 2pm, no delays as theres a queue etc. Crack on with the meeting, barring any major incident you could get it over and done with in 2hrs. Those who attended the GP and staying locally are fairly likely to watch the meeting before travelling home, daytrippers know start time and that they stand a chance of getting home at a reasonable time.

If riders have Polish commitments, run without them, or run some form of the 4TT instead. You have a stadium with a fairly large number of possible spectators staying in the area and Manchester having good transport links

But you forgot that could be another nites accommodation to stay over for a meeting on Sunday more expense over what is not a cheap few nites away, after a weekend in Manchester or people need to get home for work / school on Monday

People need to drop the idea of hosting any important meeting at Belle Vue. I have seen people suggesting every important meeting in the British calendar should be held there. The crowds for second tier pairs, fours or riders championships there would be rubbish.

If the meeting started at 2pm even the most inept member of the BSPL could surely manage to get the meeting done dusted by the time the curfew hits. For those who stayed over on the saturday night for the GP most would not need to stay on the sunday, for those travelling, fair enough it could be a long day. For example think of yourself and supporters of other teams up North and abroad. Berwick, Redcar, Workington, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Is it easier for those supporters to travel to Manchester and back home on the sameday, than travel to Poole.

Yes but I would not travel to Poole to watch the pairs or riders championship, but when the Comets go I have a couple of days on the south coast as a holiday, my wife gets it as a break to follow the Comets, but does not get it to follow just speedway.

And I must admit after what is going on in the speedway world, regarding big gaps in the fixtures I am losing interest in the sport I've been watching every year since 1970, Comets or no Comets
