There are always people late at football matches, because you see the empty seats gradually filling (and at the start of the second half too). Although, to be fair, a couple of Prem matches were delayed this season because of problems on the roads, which prevented access to the stadium. Plus, speedway is nothing to do with football - or any other sport.

It's British speedway tradition for the parade to be part of the meeting, i.e. Ipswich speedway has always advertised the start time as the time of the parade, i.e. 7:30pm and first race at 7:45pm.  I really don't see what the problem is - in the list of British speedway's problems, this must be rate in the bottom half a percent.

Most people that are late to Football matches is because they leave the pub with just five minutes to KO!!

Agree its really scraping the barrel of finding something to moan about - I think every speedway match i have attended has had a parade of the riders first unless the prospect of rain has mean't it's been cancelled. Nowadays football matches often end until just before 5pm - in the old days they were done and dusted by 4.45 with perhaps no more than 1-2 minutes extra.

I went to Thursday nights meeting with my son and I would estimate the attendance at around 2,000.

There were quite a few Leicester fans there but we were pleased to see a large Northampton support. The noise and enthusiasm of the home fans on gaining their first win was impressive and infectious!

We were very impressed with the facilities and the general organisation at the stadium.

After many years in the Speedway wilderness, I have finally found a local team that I can support.

We can’t wait for the next meeting.

At last, is there a chink of light for the future of our great sport🤞🤞

That’s a very positive post! The sport as a whole needs people you and your son. You say you have been away from the sport but it’s still in great shape (🤭) so onwards and upwards as they say.
