Mayfields are running a tight ship and it was mentioned before Doyle wouldn't be in their budget, their penny pinching and saving every penny they can cost cutting the GP series by all accounts.

That can’t be right, they promised to put a massive screen up at Foxhall which would easily be in excess of £40/50k

Where has it been said Doyle wouldn’t be in their budget?

On course to become the new King's Lynn unfortunately.

Re-Signing Doyle was the opportunity which Mayfield wavered that would've seen Tom @ No.3.

I hope Tom can regain some confidence as it's not nice seeing him struggle like this when he's made good progress year-on-year.

Tom B has made most of his progress riding at No3, protected by two exceptional one and fives, at BV and Ipswich, who went head to head against their opposite numbers several times per meeting, and, invariably, heat fifteen...

The fact they remained one and five shows their top level capability...

Tom was very honest post the GB GP's as to where is he, and that is a long way off the level of a No1, even in a depleted league...

No 1's of Kurtz, Fricke, J Holder and Lidsey, are Polish top tier HL's, so, no idea why anyone would consider Tom to be of that level..

Especially considering he even is struggling to hold down a Polish tier two position..

Enjoyable meeting on a lovely warm evening. The track staff did well again, this time in keeping the dust down on a very warm and windy evening. Plenty of good racing but I must say The Aces have been gating way way better this season which (along with injury) has always been our Achilles heal, so it a bit daunting for the rest of our league.  Be interesting to see how our gating goes on Thursday where that skill is crucial. Out of the current bunch in our league, Foxhall is our happiest of hunting grounds since Covid and I’m hoping the blip that was last season will be forgotten as we get back to winning ways. Norick seems to be finally kicking on and is currently averaging over 6.50 for 2026.

Sad to see Tom stall as I know there’s a gem in there. He left us around a 6 and his current 2026 average is around that, though he does have heat 13 instead of 8 or 14 with us. He takes a special kind of managing so a winter move might be on the cards. I wish we could fit him back in. Sometimes I hate points limits as much as I did rider control as it really affects riders.
