He isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I love him and he’ll always be my favourite speedway rider.

Charisma, personality to burn, controversial, outspoken…everything speedway needs and is sadly lacking in the Grand Prix at the moment. His absence in the current series is a huge void they will struggle to fill.

Most important of all though, he was bloody quick on a speedway bike and is our greatest ever rider.

While I’m gutted I’ll never see him race again, I’m happy he has retired safe and sound and on his own terms. His body has cried enough and he at least seems at peace with his decision.

He can now spend time with his wonderful family and make a name for himself on the DJ scene.

Thanks for the memories Tai, we’re going to miss you. ❤️

Always divided opinion off the track, but an outstanding speedway rider.

Was thrilled when he became a Wolves asset in 2006 and one of my favourite memories will always be the 2009 play off final win against Swindon,  which both Tai and his dad (despite being seriously ill by that time) played a huge role in.

Absolutely the right decision though.  Tai had nothing left to prove.

I remember his debut at Sheffield all those years ago 0,0,0, - the following week i think he scored 11 or 12 and it was clear he was going to be good!

Long and happy retirement to him and thanks for all those wonderful SGP and World Cup nights!

Happy to hear the news of Tai's retirement.

Tai has given the fans everything and more and he had nothing left to prove, He's more than earned the respect from the fans, fellow riders, owners and promoters.

I thank Tai for the memories he's given me as a Speedway fan and I wish Tai and his Family all the very best in life.

Never been a fan of the old swearer but I can't fault his grit and will to win and incredible mental strength to come back from dark places that would have finished most men.

He is the greatest UK rider ever didn't find him that exciting to watch but he had a fantastic racing brain and could read the other three riders to know exactly where to position himself exiting bend one for maximum effect.

Glad he's retiring as he's more than given enough to the sport physically and mentally hopefully he will stay involved as he is possibly someone who could turn the ship around if given the rope to do so maybe with a couple of other really good people around him also.

Here's to whatever comes next never easy for any top sportsman to walk away from what has defined them but hopefully he can really let go of that chapter and look forward to what comes next for him as I'm sure he will make a huge success of the next story  also.

Sorry, but thats complete rubbish.  Loram, Havelock, Tatum, Screen, Louis, Smith, Morton, Collins and Craven were all much better than Woffinden

More natural riders on a bike some of them yes but none got three individual world titles.
