Poole Pirates Vs Edinburgh Monarchs Championship 5th August

Recommended Posts

On Wednesday the Edinburgh Monarchs ate back in town to take on the Pirates.

Last time around Poole hit 60 points to send the Monarchs crashing out of the Bsn semi final.

This could be a lot closer this time with Dan Thompson who missed out last time through injury and Kye Thomson who both go well at Wimborne Road. Then you add in Paco Castagna  Justin Segeman and Jonatan Grahn they have a useful top 5.

It maybe down to the reserves , at this moment I don't know who is guesting for the Pirates.

Jordy Loftus didn't  go well on his last visit or Mitchell Cluff but this is where meetings can be won or lost.

Thoughts?

Dan Thompson 2,3,1’,2,1 = 9+1 most definitely did ride in the BSN semi final at Poole….Paco Castagna didn’t ride, Joe Thompson rode in his place scoring 1,0,0,fx = 1 👍

Kye Thomson scored f,2,2,1,0 = 5. Not sure if you thought he didn’t ride last time?

Looks like finding it difficult on the guest front. If they find it difficult now, imagine what it will be like in the playoffs when even more restricted!

'News of Poole's guest for Bowes is still to be confirmed, the August averages and the other meeting going ahead on Wednesday limit's the options.'

Might just being thick but why will finding a guest for play offs be more difficult? When only 3 other teams 5 active.

Harrison looks like becoming an honorary Pirate, and he's very welcome too.

The 8 day rule to stop using the same guest every week rider availability, some riders who are not in the playoffs or cup matches may go back to wherever home is or on holiday. Vinnie foords average fits

Well they are finding it hard when its just 2 where they cant choose from and three is more than two, so less riders to choose from. Also have to take account of Aussies possibly going home if their teams havent made the playoffs.

Also sorry to burst your bubble but Luke Harrison's average is too high now.

Poole started using  the facility for Bowes continuously since Berwick on 27th June.

As the SCB regulation states:

010.5 FACILITIES

g)       injured whilst speedway racing

This must be recorded on the Meeting Report by the Referee.

This facility will apply automatically for a period up to a maximum of 28 days.

The Promotion may apply to the SCB Co-Ordinator for an extension.

Not seen this mentioned anywhere online, but must assume Poole have applied and been granted an extension of the 28 day maximum by the SCB Co-Ordinator?

Once again not picking on Poole, it just happens to be on this thread, but surely 28 days is long enough to sign somebody? Don't think any facilities should be extended beyond that really.

I totally agree!! Nothing against Poole but as you say they’ve had plenty long enough now to have signed a replacement rider, so I have zero sympathy that they are finding it more difficult to find a guest. They have been using Harrison and Kennett as reserve guests who are heat leaders at their respective clubs so I suspect they weren’t in a particular rush if the only available riders were weaker on paper than their recent guests.

why would they have been granted an extension, theyve had plenty of time to sign someone? Some transparency would definitely help when ocurrences like this arise.
