noaksey
Premier Sports most likely I'd say, when (if) they work out who would be paying the production costs

I think their subscriber numbers would be too low for that to be worthwhile.
TB1
More chance of extra terrestrial tv than normal tv. If it was that good they'd be queuing up.

In fact back in June it was found at times there was a lot more people watching for free streaming on firestick and such like that than there was using official services

Doesn't quite add up that The ongoing question for any terrestrial or indeed cable tv channel is who is it envisaged will pay the production costs? 1. The BSPL 2.The tv channel 3. A combination of the above
LagutaRacingFan
If Premier Sports got British, Polish and Swedish speedway then I wouldn't mind paying £10 - £15 per month.

Could have Premier Sports & BSN both showing Premiership Speedway?

Unless that has very heavily increased I don't see much benefit from it. Those kind of numbers aren't going to help grow the sport much over time. If they have/had confidence that a deal with Sky, TNT, ITV etc was possible I think it makes sense to wait.
Hamish McRaker
Perhaps saying "good offer" was just a polite way of putting it?
ShanoXtra
BBC or ITV will know doubt get in and amongst it with Richard at the houses of parliament the other month and putting forward a case on how to grow the sport. More tracks to come back, more coverage for the general population to casually turn on TV and watch without subscriptions etc. It’s the only way to grow it. TNT and Sky get the sport subscriptions purely for football let’s face it. People still won’t watch speedway even if it is available to them because they are paying for what they want. BBC and ITV would feel more of a bonus free sport for a casual fan to pick up when bored and nothing else on TV.

The play off finals were going to be shown on ITV but now not. So somethings happened. So I fear ITV stepped away now
TTT
British Speedway has to be on ITV or Sky Sports imo. Premier Sports just doesn't have the numbers to grow the Sport and I can't see people signing up to TNT Sports just for Speedway tbh, BSN is great for die hards but that's not going to get new fans on board either imo. Pretty much everyone will have Sky Sports if they're a Sports fan as it's got everything you want so if British Speedway was going behind a subscription service then Sky is the best option as it's the most likely platform to get new fans on board but that boat has sailed unfortunately. Only other way I see the Sport growing is ITV4 because it's free to air, So let's see what happens next season.

I did subscribe for a year to PT a few seasons back - it was 9.99 i think and covered Swedish and re-runs of Polish matches after they had taken place - I felt it was a good deal at the time. If they turned down a deal for this season with Premier I would say that was madness - given their was nothing else on the table unless Premier S said no to club streaming services as part of the deal! I've used 4 streaming services this season and have been happy with them all.

Neila
IF speedway was gonna be on ITV, I would think very selective meetings would be shown, maybe a twice a month highlights show then the finals live would be better suited
Daniel Smith
Just now, Neila said: IF speedway was gonna be on ITV, I would think very selective meetings would be shown, maybe a twice a month highlights show then the finals live would be better suited Speedway is absolutely better suited to a highlights reel. Cuts out all the 💩 and a whole meeting can be covered in just 30mins with best race highlights from other fixtures from that week. With all the gaps / delays in live meetings, the sport doesn't lend itself to modern society and new fans. Majority of U30s today cannot cope with nothingness and 15 minutes of action over a couple of hours just will never cut it. Speedway in general is a sport in a real tough spot regardless of the moves it tries to make. There has to be a major focus on speeding up heats and/or adding extra races. Selling Speedway to new observers, sponsors & media is a seriously tough job.
Fortythirtyeight
Don’t know why any TV company would want to cover British Speedway at present , same teams playing each other on a four week rota. , same riders appearing for different teams , if the weather allows for it and then a ‘crowd’ of 60+ year olds who struggle to raise an atmosphere ……and I’m one of them !
