Failure to apply the rules as intended is cheating. Compromising the integrity of the sport does not render it “the winner”.

BlueIn2Red
Smart move from Scunthorpe not to accept their medals, if they had then some would no doubt have seen it as an acceptance of the result.
Bash
Can’t blame the Scunthorpe riders for not going out to get the wrong medals, total injustice, it’s like VAR they have the replays and still can’t get it right.
Marky_Mark
Terrible from the referee when he had all of the TV replays available. Clearly both wheels over the line and that’s now a hollow victory. A real shame as it’s spoilt what was a fantastic meeting.
Gavan
Cheats … that’s a disgrace to the integrity of the sport Both wheels clearly over … no Poole fan can defend that
BlueIn2Red
Loads of respect for the way Pickering handled that last interview as well. He was clearly livid (as anybody in his position would be), yet stayed pretty calm and professional.

But that’s on the ref inability not the sport, the ref should face action but on the whole the internet will blow up tonight because of it and it will grab headlines

But Poole are use to and enjoy winning this way So many times over the years they have got away with bending rules or cheating as some call it Remember the dodgy tapes against workington every time comets were in front race was stopped when Poole were in front start Marshall run over and held tapes up

BlueIn2Red
With hindsight also, a bit disappointed that BSN didn’t say it how it is. They showed the replays, which are clear, yet didn’t seem to have the guts (rather like the referee it would seem) to call it as it was.

BlueIn2Red
I don’t think it’s fair to say Poole cheated though - I’ve seen that said a lot both here and on Facebook. The fault lies purely with the referee. Cook made a bold move and obviously wasn’t trying to ride off the track, that was just a misjudgement, not “cheating”. The referee had the replays, took the time to look at them (according to BSN), yet bottled the decision. Being unreasonably generous, he may have been a little scared for his safety if he had made the right decision, but that’s really no excuse. Regardless, I hope the relevant authorities act to correct his mistake.

LagutaRacingFan
So what's next? Are Scunthorpe going to file an appeal
rocketrod
Cook wouldn’t have deliberately gone over the white line so it’s not cheating. It’s the referee that has to be made accountable. it’s inconclusive the pictures that were shown. You can make any angle fit a narrative and so if it goes for you it’s great , if it goes against you then it’s rubbish. Pretty classless of Scunthorpe though not to accept their medals. Fans have made a long journey not to be acknowledged by the team.
BlueIn2Red
As a neutral who doesn’t care who wins, the pictures were absolutely conclusive!

There is clear video evidence of not only Cook crossing the white line tonight, but Cairns warming his tyres at Scunthorpe last week. Had he been excluded - as was the absolute correct decision - the tonight doesn’t go to a super heat; Scunthorpe are champions after fifteen heats. Only in speedway, could the underdog be cheated.
