Anyone know if there are any tickets left for the Poole end of season dinner dance next month?

Lindgren hates Poole more than you do Gavan and Tai will only help Wolves. I'd much rather have Brady anyway, he'll be better than them in a year or so.

Terrific effort by the Robins last night and I'm glad I went. I can't remember seeing Troy Bachelor ride that well for a long time. After the first 6 heats it wasn't looking great as we were 10 points down and hadn't provided a heat winner. Nick had taken a fall in the first heat and according to Rosco's after-meeting comments had felt he'd damaged his number 1 bike and his reserve machine lacked pace. However there seemed to be a concerted team effort and they all dug deep to turn it around. Everybody contributed, even Mitchell Davey didn't look too far off the pace although he failed to score. A special mention for Zach who continues to improve and he had a great scrap with Kurtz in Heat 12 picking up a valuable 3rd place to give us a 4-2 heat victory. I know its early days yet but the Robins are shaping up well. I think there's scope in this team for a number of riders to improve their averages this year; Zac Toby and Adam and if Batch can maintain something close to the form he showed last night I think we can compensate for the loss of Doyley. For Leicester, they look a much better side and I know Bjerre's return of 6 paid 8 was a little disappointing (though according to another poster he was on borrowed equipment last night) I think he's a very good choice of cover for Vaculik for that track as he's a gating specialist which is big advantage there. Well done Budgies, onwards and upwards, a very entertaining meeting.

Sorry Chris, but I find myself at odds with your comments on the Rye managers offering congratulations to Dan. My game was Rugby both league and union, and we were told that you congratulate your opponents after the match, it was called sportsmanship in my day, yes, in the dressing room you let your feelings be known about the performance or lack thereof, but a performance like Dan’s should be recognised. I’m old fashioned, tell them well done but kick their backsides next time.

Yep that was one of my posts - a great idea and one that a lot of tracks could take on board. It's the sort of thing a sponsor is likely to want to get on board with offering a financial prize at the end of the season to the winner.

I find all this embarrassing. Rye House have always been a second tier club running on weekends and have done pretty well too. Now we are running again on an unfamiliar night and given the side we are putting out the crowds will dwindle. Harris Robson and Nicholls have hardly set the Second tier alight and at this level are the basis of a side that will get mauled every time away from home. We didn’t make the playoffs last year, we have learned nothing from team building last season and the current side would struggle against Championsip teams. Even down to no team Kevlar we look a second rate club going nowhere and have a stadium that has gone backwards since the BMR mob moved in. Fans wanted Silver out and now they have what they wished for

We offered to go to Workington on Saturday not been confirmed wether Workington have given it the ok. Not too bothered what happens as it is all hot air and bluster from some on here when they post before the brain engages.

Please could anyone confirm whether the relegation race off is in place again this year? Just asking for a friend who lives in Dorset.

It is what it is, but for us to cast judgement and say it's very badly advised may itself be badly advised. We only have our selfish opinions as fans. We aren't close enough to the guy or his family to know all the facts that went into making that decision. It might be unfortunate for the world of speedway, but there's a lot more to life than just speedway.

It's called realism when you are paying the bills.

Yep but at least we got a point there. This should also suit us. I was very disapointed with Kildemands input last night, and Shpaniack was no better. Brady did his job as to a certin extent did james and a couple of the others, but we need to find more, starting tomororrow night. Wolverhampton is a bogey track for most clubs because of the nature of the track, it will always have home advantage.

Very good comeback from being 10 down during the meeting, all the riders pulled out the stops and showed what Swindon can do after a couple of rides on an away track. Feel for our reserves who seem to be putting in a lot of effort and not always getting the scores they deserve, but hopefully that will come. I thought we would keep within six points of Leicester and get one away point but to win was a real plus and showed what grit the riders have. Well done Rosco and the team.

Holder won't be there so there shouldn't be anyone moaning about the track!

Don’t see any reason for Poole to complain apart from Kildemand’s lack of points. Wolves very good at home.

You think Kings Lynn should have romped the league with their terrible team!!
  19. 1 point
ok, but he did become world u-21 champion in 1993 and appeared in the Grand Prix from 1996-2001 finishing 6th in 1999. Not many Englishmen have achieve that, particularly in recent years.

What ultimately happened to Joe Screen - he retired after an excellent career where he entertained 1000s of people here and abroad.

What a comeback by the lads & take a bow Troy especially as he is certainly glad to be a Robin again.

Early days, stick by them. Growing pains but Poole will walk the league this year

Didn't take you long to get back to normal did it. Pretty sure the Poole 2018 thread should be used to discuss your changes.

The shale going on a Poole is proper stuff not cheap rubbish. Its a speedway blend to our specification . The other 10% is limestone 6mm to dust. Glyn
