I stopped listening to it midway through last year. It was actually very good and very well put together, I just lost interest in it to be honest.

What about Northampton?
Hamish McRaker replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Says not ready yet for GP's level, not wanting to do too much, too soon. -
I don't think the official British speedway podcast will be running this year

It's about 200 yards from a hospital - handy but I can't see them getting planning for it. Spoke to my old man about it many times, There was a track up by him further up the valley in the middle of no where and even that wouldn't have got permission.

Dave Barclay owns it.

Would love to know what your definition of "soon enough" is...? The season has already started and we still don't know anything about the name, colours, management or riders etc... of one of the teams in the sports top division... Absolutely crazy...

Not certain yet that this decision will stand See the bbc article below Greyhound racing is to be banned in Wales, after Senedd members voted to outlaw the practice. The move was backed by animal welfare groups, who said that thousands of dogs in the UK have died in recent years due to racing in the "inherently dangerous" sport. But the legislation faces a legal challenge and accusations ministers did not consult on it properly. Before the vote it emerged civil servants had told the Welsh government not enough evidence had been gathered to justify a ban. Ministers said they could not comment during "ongoing litigation".

An important part of season planning for a professional sport as set out by Dave However as is seen through this winter it seems that others want to reset the sport to the level of a village fete..... -
No idea however these are the sort of things that the BSPL & speedway futures need to be looking at. Especially if this band extends to other parts of the uk in the future.
-
Who owns the stadium and land?
-
Could the BSPL look at putting speedway into the valley greyhound stadium in wales now that wales have banned greyhound racing.
-
Tough at “the top” and they couldn’t hack it 😅🙈😂🤪
-
Allegedly a crowd of 6000 reported, but the following weeks back to usual levels

Lakeside did this one year, a freebie for the meeting on SKY against Poole. The amount of cars trying to get into the stadium actually caused traffic issues on the M25!
-
Doesn't look like Nora is on the cards, I think its more a development thing with lots of youth and training, 250's etc..
-
Both Swedish and Danish teams do this. Typically the free meeting gets around double the usual crowd. Not sure that there is much evidence of increased crowds, but some teams do it every year so there ust be some perceived benefit.

A more generous interpretation of what little we know is that Tai was badly injured. Then against the odds he's offered a WC for this year's GP series. He accepts in the hope that working very hard he can be fit in time. Unfortunately his body didn't quite co-operate enough to make the fairy tale come about. Just saying.
