  2. If there ever was to be two leagues, then there would need to be clear demarcation. One to run the top tier and one to run a lower semi pro comp. when riders sign for the top tier they know that they cannot sign for the a team in the lower tier. There would be no restraint of trade involved.
  3. What was the reason for the late start time (7:30) , with around 20 hts to race plus the support meeting too it seems crazy on a cold October night to start at this time . I could understand if it was a midweek meeting and people were working but this was a Saturday event . This does not encourage newer fans never mind fans that already attend on a regular basis .
  4. 1. K. Thomson 8.23 2. J. Grahn 5.63 3. P. Castagna 5.88 4. V. Palovaara 5.64 5. J. Sedgmen 6.84 6. M. Cluff 3.64 7. J. Loftus 3.60 = 39.46

  6. When reading through some of the comments on the Premiership play-off final I noticed a number of fans' only meeting of the year (or one of very few) was the final. You could see by the crowd number at both meetings it was true. The draw to that meeting though is not the caliber of rider it is the fact that it matters. The teams were actually weaker than the start of the season, no Dan Bewley or Jack Holder. I am not sure if the draw of a top rider name is strong enough anymore. I think fans would rather see their team do well or watch competitive, close exciting racing. Also, the vast majority of the public have no idea who Robert Lambert is. I genuinely think moving to racing on any day of the week and losing those top riders to the Ekstraliga could work. It would cut rider fees costs and allow racing on Friday or Saturday (or Wednesday if you're Poole). I think racing and the overall league would be much more competitive if all teams can truly afford to run, therefore making each meeting matter more. If the only teams that can make profits are high championship ones why don't we make that the level of the premiership? The new championship would be a combination of lower championship riders and national league riders. Nearly all teams could afford and would want to be in the premiership then so we could bring back relegation/promotion.
  7. Changes to 6 man teams from next year.
  8. Denmark is 5 man teams over 14 heats if I remember rightly.
  9. Bit weak in ht13&15 but I feel that would be good enough to get into the play offs
  10. Maybe, but many of the riders that the UK need to attract over here see Thursday as being too close to the weekend, where they earn their major money and expectations of them are at their most pressured.. And don't want to be in an out of the UK twice a week some weeks as can happen... Plus Poland use Thursday now for rearranged meetings which, as we know, negatively impacts UK Speedway.. If the UK can improve the product then maybe Mondays only would work? As we see with the play offs, all teams have possibly even as much as double the followers that attend regularly through the season, therefore maybe if the product, and its credibility improves, so would the crowd levels??
  11. Would happily take Zach at Lynn if he was solely coming in to be 3rd heat leader, in a 1-7 similar to below: 1. Max Fricke - 8.27 2. Tom Brennan - 5.76 3. Zach Cook - 7.35 4. Luke Becker - 6.88 5. Robert Lambert - 7.80 6. Cooper Rushen - any U21 7. Jody Scott - UK U21 Total - 36.06
  12. Fits after British Reductions. 1. R. Lawson 8.15 2. K. Newman 4.92 3. L. Harrison 5.70 4. C. Rushen 5.01 5. W. Cairns 6.44 6. S. Lightcap 4.83 7. E. Kennett 4.62 39.67
  13. 6 riders in that team potentially will be missing over several weekends for official FIM U19 U21 and U24 events plus GP2 qualifying and main events, then various European championships, at times these young riders will be required more for these events and missing Poole and any other team that they may have signed for. Could be a reason not to sign a young team with potential
  14. I agree but I also think Zach is in the same boat as Musielak now where he's maxed out his GSA tbh (7.35) I can see Zach spending a year at King's Lynn or Northampton if the points limit isn't 40.00 as I don't see how the Aces can fit both Cook's as well as Kurtz/Bewley in a 38 limit for example. After Bewley's reduction the 4 riders come to 31.75.
  15. I like that - questions over Tate in heats 13 and 15 and a very young side but should do well again
  16. R. Lawson 8.15 C. Rushen 5.01 W. Cairns 6.44 L. Harrison 5.70 T. Zischke 6.56 S. Lightcap 4.00 B. Landon/V. Muddle 4.00 Total: 39.86
  17. Lawson Cooper Tate Mitch Mcdiarmid Harrison Slater/Landon Beau? would leave just over 5 for the last rider, so opens the door to a new 5point rider to start the season at reserve
  18. A new Aussie is usually the go to. Or maybe Brady Landon?
  19. He does but is still a very young lad. It's happened before when they come over to ride together, its just a feeling as they don't seem to travel apart and both in the Ward camp. Both at Glasgow would be my guess. Which would be a crying shame for Workington if they get neither.
  20. One of the "weird" plusses for Speedway is the actual lack of huge financial rewards for winning.. No team would put together a team of "World Beaters" as they couldn't afford it, or, even if they could, their own crowds would suffer, as watching them hammer opponents each meeting would become boring... It doesn't even need massive differences in team averages, just stop moving the sport backwards each season... And having a "Manchester United" that brings the largest crowds in when they visit can't be a bad thing for the sport.. Other "Minority" sports, like both Rugby codes, Basketball and Ice Hockey have their regular "top teams", who bring in good home fan turnouts when visitng other teams.. It should always be about moving the sport forward..
  21. With nearly half of the top nine riders being Belle Vue 2026 riders, I can see us having to release lads once again to bolster our opponents.
  22. Apologies i meant to add at the End of Season Awards on Saturday
  23. What we need is consistency. As it is we may get three meetings on consecutive Mondays one month then one meeting the next month. I like the suggestion of one night a week for top-flight British speedway and one meeting every two weeks. We'd soon get into the habit. Eight teams would be perfect but I guess that six or seven would be possible too. Also, we could have some 'fillers' for the 'diehard' fans who would go whatever the meeting. Possibly three-team matches, local challenges, etc. Hope I am not getting too carried away but have the sense that some of the promoters are getting serious about presenting a more credible product! Just hope that there are enough of them to change what we have had to put up with for so long!
  24. Agree. Probably have to adopt the Danish format with 6 Man Teams to get around it as well as limiting Heat Leaders to an x amount per team in order to share them around?
  25. Why would a sport run on a day when crowds will be generally at their lowest? Monday may work best for the Aces, but there’s a reason why most of the Premiership clubs race predominantly on a Thursday. Louis referenced it a number of times, and Coleman re-iterated it recently that for the Witches crowd numbers on a Monday are significantly lower than a Thursday.
