  1. Past hour
  2. I was very impressed with Harrison. I hadn't realised that he was so good.
  3. It was quite inspiring to stand there on Thursday night after the match listening to Drew Kemp "promote" the meeting as "an opportunity to do some testing" and "another pay day"... it almost had me buying my ticket there and then, like you say though, I'll wait for the drop outs first before deciding on whether to attend 🤷‍♂️
  4. No but must would think he would get more than Bowes who has been a disaster from day 1.
  5. Today
  6. Maybe thats the problem? Maybe too many clashes with his other activities away from the track? In any case he's contracted to cover for Riss at Oxford at the moment.

  9. Me and my lad went to Owlerton a couple of years ago to watch the Aces, and around heat 10 he noticed just how many "in memory of" heats there were.. And, being 20 at the time, thought it somewhat amusing, asking who would have sponsored the heats if their fans didnt die... We then went to watch the return on the Monday at the NSS and quickly also picked up on how many "in memory of" heats there were... My Dad, (his Grandad), passed away in February and just before this season started he said.. "At least we can sponsor a heat at Belle Vue now!".. I blame the parents....
  10. After seeing EK the week before there were many who thought he would get a decent score,he rode very well last night a Fantastic meeting and a draw probably a fair result
  11. Or Mitch Cluff they’re our only 2 options really. I’d go with cluff
  12. I think you’re pointing the finger at the wrong rider here. If anyone’s let the team down so to say, it’s NHJ. Another crash for him, which seems to be a recurring thing this season, coupled with a massive drop in his average and “poor machinery.” No doubting there is a rider there, but I think this time it hasn’t worked out. Question is, if he’s picked up a long term injury, who can we bring in to replace?
  13. Again, not like he’s left it with a fault is it. Things happen and stuff breaks for crying out loud. Get over yourself mate.
  14. Yesterday
  15. Jacobsen on a 3 point average now, so with the 5% allowance for a home guest not much if any choice at 3.15
  16. While I don't agree with much of what the petition requests, and therefore won't be signing it, I do agree that riders should commit to riding a full season in the UK if they want to ride here. Not every rider is going to find a team place in Poland, far from it, if they want to take their chances fair enough. British Speedway can't afford to be granting facilities left right and centre due to riders being elsewhere it's so damaging to the sport in the UK. Many riders have played the "I'm going to concentrate on Poland" card in the past only to come back mid way through the season with their tails between their legs due to not being picked to ride. There's only, what? 3 divisions of 8 teams in Poland, that's 168 team places in a very very crowded market. Don't get me wrong I'm not blaming the riders solely for British Speedway's ills the promoters have to take massive responsibility for allowing the sport to get to the position it is currently in but rider demands certainly hasn't made things any easier for promoters.
  17. Wonder how many drop outs there will be after the Friday/Saturday meeting would think there’s at least 4 of that 16 won’t be there Sunday
  18. Never mind Geoff! Not sure many thought he was going to get paid 14.
  19. Far from it- but your suggestions are ridiculous. The sport needs big changes, but telling riders its Britain and nowhere else would just result in the majority packing up to go abroad. Poland pays, more than any British club could or will. and these boys have such short careers, giving their bodies and often livelihoods for this sport and you want to be the one to tell them to cut their options and do Britain only? Get real.
  20. Thats a fortunate electrical fault with Bandits due to be missing two main riders 😉. Not the first time a club has had an issue when riders are absent, wont be the last, but the fixtures are piling up and yet we've seen little action in the key summer months.
